Orange Cream is the latest for Coca-Cola: Coca-Cola's Latest Release Is a Fresh Twist on a Classic Flavor

Personally, plain Coca-Cola does the trick for me ... maybe flavored with some Captain Morgan on occasion.

Do you have a strong preference? Vanilla? Cherry? Orange Cream?

I'm from Georgia where we call everything Coke.

Dr. Pepper is my favorite type of coke.

Root beer or doctor pepper.

I don't generally like "cola". Coke makes such a great paint stripper, rust remover, and calcium dissolver that I can't believe people put it in their bodies even if they somehow like the taste. Pepsi, while not quite as caustic, still tastes terrible to me.

I average about 1 pop a month these days. Usually Sprechers root beer or orange cream.

I still feel the damage from the gallons of mountain dew I used to drink every day. Not hyperbole, actual gallons. Multiple 2 liters, or case plus of cans, or full 6 packs of 24oz bottles. I bet if you burned my stomach fat it would smell like a mountain dew candle.

The gallon plus of water I drink every day instead hasn't made me any healthier, but it's certainly calmed the stomach and cut back the teeth pain.

So do vinegar and lemon juice, and have you seen what salt does to a car body?  You want to put that on your french fries?  Context is important.

I'm not saying Coke is good for you, but a little bit isn't going to hurt.  As for my favorite -- the imported Mexican Coke in the glass bottles.  It's the closest you can get to the pre-1985 Coke.

I have mostly cut soda out of my diet. I will still treat myself to a Dr. Pepper now and then - maybe once every couple of weeks or so. It's just too good to let go completely. :)

I probably drink 1-2 sodas a year, if I'm honest.  But I always have a Moxie on my Peperes birthday in remembrance/solidarity...

We keep a 6-pack of the 6oz cokes in bottles for when we do hamburgers on the grill. Our junky food treat night with Lays potato chips too. Can't beet them super cold with a hamburger. Other than that every so often, it's no cokes for us.

I'm from the South where we call everything Coke. wink

Maybe once a month I treat myself to a glass bottle, Mexican coke. Any more often than that and it loses "treat" status.

I found it very interesting that the whole sucrose vs glucose and fructose thing pretty much pointed out that the reason Mexican coke tastes "better" to a lot of folks is that it contains a lot more sodium.

Cliffs notes for those uninterested in going down the rabbit hole: The acidic cola environment pretty much immediately converts the Sucrose into its constituent parts of glucose and fructose. Therefore the sugar can't be what tastes different. The 85mg vs 45mg of Sodium would definitely make a difference though.

I don't have soda often, but this is one of my favorites.  As soon as I taste it I am a 6-year-old kid sitting at the side of a red clay tennis court on a wooden bench wiggling one of those 1960s baby carriages with the spring suspension set up.  In the carriage is my baby sister.  My job is to keep her quiet sipping my coke as my parents play tennis.  They would feed me a couple of cokes and some snacks and they would get a couple of sets in.

To me it is cleaner.  You don't get that nasty film in your mouth that you get with "American" coke.

Guess I'll go with the crowd.  I don't drink soda 99% of the time but it's Mexican coke, Gingerale, and then Dr. Pepper.

Sounds like it's time for the unpopular opinion...Pepsi for a cola, Dr Pepper for other brown drink.

Also, my weird observation: Coke is better than Pepsi, but Cherry Pepsi is better than Cherry Coke.

I rarely drink soda/pop/etc anymore. If I'm going to damage my organs with sugar, I'm going to do it with booze so I at least get a buzz......and I do much less of that than I used to as well.

If I'm drinking pop, Dr. Pepper or occasionally I'll get a 4 pack of Virgil's Root Beer. My guilty pleasure when it comes to beverages is Chocolate Milk, which I purport is nearly impossible to drink at a normal pace.

However, being 42, one thing that does annoy the E36 M3 out of me vs when I was younger is iced tea. You used to be able to order iced tea and you got iced tea. Now you have to specify that you don't want that gross sweet tea garbage.
