Ford 4.9
Hyundai 1.6
3.3
weak!
Dr Hess, I think I still have you beat for just cars.
76 Mark V with a 472 ( .60 over 460) to the same Honda Civic. 6.2L
Gees it was awesome when Gas was a buck.
My biggest - smallest = my current DD!
Corvette 5.7
-Saturn 1.9
=Firebid 3.8
Hows that for weird?
I have failed to own anything big, 350 is "medium" in my way of thinking.
If I can count the Lemons car, which I technically own a portion of, then it's 7.53 and I win. A 460 BBF and the Leaf at zero.
If I can't count it, then it's 5.7 for the small block in the truck.
But I am totally counting the Leaf. If you balk at that I have a 0.25 cubic inch engine in a plane upstairs.
I think we should be giving the award for the CURRENT spread, not just "cars I may have once owned".
Hey, one of my MGBs never had an engine during my ownership. So it counts as 0. I'm up to 7.0!
Or we count the liter spread in a single vehicle. That would be 4.4 for me: 1.8 to 6.2. Although the car came to me with no engine at all, so I guess it's really 6.2.
I'm up there...
7016cc (Cobra Jet Mustang)- 993cc (1963 Opel Kadett) = 6023cc
as to KT's post about current spread... Wife car is 1587cc, mine is 1606cc so 19cc difference
Current spread: 4.0 LS400 - 1.5 1NZ Europa = 2.5L
Current bike spread: 1340 - 883 = 0.457L
Max Bike spread: 1340-750=0.59L
If we go by current then I'm a 3.7L
.40 over 340 in the barracuda and 2.0L in the MR2.
Maybe I need shop for a 440 haha....
My Uncle beats me handily though. 572 (9.4L) in his corvette and a 2.0L in my aunt's CRV. 7.4L difference.
8.1 liter Suburban minus .75 liter Renault (750cc 4CV) = 7.35 liters!
Probably the biggest disparity in passenger vehicle size I've ever had, too.
Oh and until last fall I owned both at the same time.
If we limit it to current cars, that 8.1 liter Suburban and my 1.3 liter 3 cyl MINI, for a 6.8 liter current spread.
5.7 liter Suburban down to .998 Mini.
my Dad's 454 Dually at 7.439 and his Citroen 2cv at .632 definitely has me beat within just my family...
These are from the current fleet.
14 liter (cummins in the halo truck) and 1.6 in my baja bug, so 12.7 liter for vehicles.
for bikes 1300 for my BMW k1300s to 125 for my 89 Honda NX125, so 1.175 liter.
5.884 liters or 359.07 cubic inches. 1965 Cadillac, 429 cubic inches (7.03 liters) and 1984 RX-7 1.146 liters (69.93 cubic inches)
Cars: Dodge Grand Caravan @ 3.3L - '64 Mini Cooper @ .997L = 2.3L
Cars & trucks: Dodge Cummins @ 5.9L - '64 Mini Cooper @ .997L = 4.9L
The closest I ever got to owning a BB (or any V8) American car was test driving a General Lee with a 383.
Damn, I thought I had a pretty good chance but I will have to just accept a top 5 position. I think I am 1st or 2nd now, depending on if we let Weary get away with saying an electric car has no displacement.
Suburban 8.1L Suburban
Honda Insight with 995cc three cylinder
= 7.1L.
If I include bikes it only drops to 7.65L (because of Husky TXC449)
318 (5.2l) '71 Charger 998cc (1.0l) '5? Triumph Herald
So, cars 4.2l spread.
Bikes: 750cc (.75l) Yamaha SECA 750 50cc (.05l) Honda Z50
Bikes .7l spread.
1985 bronco 5.8L Saab 9-5 2.3L = past 3.5L spread triumph 885cc and other triumph 955cc so 70cc haha only own one car at the moment so I loose
