I have used 1Weather for the past several years, but recent UI changes have made it horrible to work with and the radar no longer works.
I tried the baked in Google pixel weather app and it's uglier, and doesn't have radar layers I want.
What do you use?
Accuracy is nice, but I mostly just want a good detailed radar system, and a widget for the home or lock screen that gives me current temp, daily high and lows, and precip percentage without needing to try 100 different apps. Something that updates hourly or when accessed.
This doesn't sound like it would be hard to find, but there is such a deluge of weather apps anymore I'd rather just ask the hive.
None of them are perfect but Weather Underground has the most info that's useful to me with the best UI. It's my go-to for everyday use. During hurricane season there's a couple others I use for real-time storm tracking, but WU still checks the most boxes the easiest.
The Weather Underground app also has minimal advertising. At least the IOS version.
+1 for Weather Underground - it's the only one I use. I find it cuts through the sensationalism of the local news and the forecasts are typically very accurate. Also use the hourly forecast to plan my day when I'm hoping to work outside.
Another vote for WU. I also use MyRadar because it's the only app Ive found to date that gives radar thru Android Auto
For advanced weather info I like this aviation web page: https://aviationweather.gov/gfa/#obs
Initially it may look like a cluttered mess, but there's a lot of configuration you can do to customize the view.
For radar, I like the MyRadar app. The wind vectors are really handy to understand more precisely what is happening. https://myradar.com/
I use Weather Elite by WeatherBug but only because I paid for the app 10+ years ago. It's pretty simple but has a bunch of dumb features that I ignore. I just use it for the 10 day forecast and weather radar.
I use the free AccuWeather Ap on Android. Works fine for numbers (like what the temps are and will be) and basic forecasts. The radar works fine.
For "geek-out" dedicated to sailboat racing and marine forecasts; Sailflow Ap. Its jam is predicting future wind speeds and directions
Ive been using "myradar" app for years. It was set up by aviation folks so its good data without fluff. I subscribe to it mostly for the hurricane tracker.

Another long time WU user here on Android.
Ok I like my radar already after 30 seconds of playing around.
I'll try out the weather underground app for a few days. It looks easy enough to get used to, but the widget is ugly.
Forecastie for quick weather at a glance, ventusky.com for when I want detailed radar weather.
Weather Underground also uses remote weather stations in peoples back yards , the one near me is only 2 blocks away !
I would like a better local Radar map , so I can see if the rain is coming this far south , maybe the airport weather site might have better info ?
I use MyRadar for visuals. This is a screenshot I just took of the south, but you can zero in to a pretty good zoom.
If I'm out of town, sometimes I google the local airport's AWOS (Automated Weather Observing System) it's a taped loop that updates every 15 minutes of weather conditions.
AWOS Ormond Beach is 386-437-7334.
An amusing one is called "WT Forecast". It's a weather app that includes English text comments on the weather on which you can enable various levels of profanity. :)

Is that pixelated crap at the bottom of the MyRadar screen an ad? Because touching those buttons does nothing on my free version. It would be nice to stop that stupid red message light from blinking like a 1997 website.
I've been using Today Weather for the past few years because they have a widget I like, but I just installed MyRadar, and I'm liking it so far.

I've been using WeatherBug for awhile now, seems pretty accurate. Good radar map, extended forecast, hourly.
No ads to wade through, no pop ups.
Ive been using accuweather for years. I liked it enough to buy the premium version that eliminates ads but not enough to pay for super premium which adds crap I don't want. It's easy to use and I can get the info I want quickly. It has radar that lets you see the current situation, the past hour and 1.5 hours into the future with relatively good accuracy. It also has a cloud map and wind flow map that tracks now and 24 hours in the future.
Any of them have an almanac with past temperatures and rainfall/snow amounts?
I am on Android, and I use Weather Underground and MyRadar together and have been for years. WU has a lot of localized user data from weather nerd amateur weather stations, which helps accuracy pretty well. MyRadar is the best live radar that I've seen out of any app. Both are on the free ad-supported versions, but the ads are unintrusive and don't get in the way like on other weather apps I've tried.

Been using MyRadar for a few years. What do you use during hurricane season?
I'm a pilot and use aviationweather.gov a lot, but it isn't particularly user friendly, even with a fairly new GUI, and it's slow as hell on a desktop. For hard core data use weather.gov which is NOAA. For everyday I use windy.com as it will give the METARs and TAFs for the airports as well as a forecast for the next five days. As someone else mentioned, ventusky.com is pretty nice and it's easy to switch models. I like it best for wind and cloud base predictions.
I use Wunderground, too. It gets the job done, but it isn't the most elegant app out there.
