If you want to run a little north for lunch you can always go here.

Congrats, good sir.
I've been at my job 8 years, and I'm only 20
I really hope this is my last year.
I've never been at a job more than 18 months . . .well . . if you don't count the Marine Corps, but civilian jobs, nah, just never hold up that long. Then again, I work in IT and turnaround in IT is stupid.
Congrats on the consistency, if you're partying near by, I hope to be invited.

I had a whole fanboi-soaked congratulations/rant all written up, but no matter how I edited it, it sounded borderline crazy/obsessive/solicitous, so Im gonna pare it down to congrats! you do good work and GRM is better for it. Please continue filling pages with win sauce!

Probably pushing an Edsel northbound on I-95 with the rest of her family if they stuck with the last weekend plans I heard about.

Dude. There are people who don't have that good of a record with their families.
Well done sir.

Interesting... so how is it you know when you are going to die?
Nah, the Edsel is proving... unwilling. Tim's been hard at it all weekend, and the engine is in, but multiple "issues" mean we'll probably have to bag the idea of vacation in the family truckster and take something more mundane.
...which is why we haven't been all over the board, but also why we'll be there for lunch tomorrow!! You pick the spot, J.G., we're buying. Try to keep it in the county, though--I still have a couple of releases to write and stuff to wrap before we go north.
Edit: Oh, and in case it's not completely obvious--thanks for spending the half-life with us, J.G.

That would make me sad. I was looking forward to the road reports. Now you'll have to just do your late 1950s family vacation (wearing skinny ties, drinking a lot, beating the kids and hoping that awful papist Kennedy doesn't get elected to anything important) in something terribly ordinary.
I still have my fingers crossed for a recovery.
