I am looking at new 2019 f150's. Seem to be some pretty good deals now. Will they get better the closer we get to December 31st? I have never bought a new vehicle, always bought used.
In the past I thought I had heard the closer to the end of the year the dealerships get more motivated. Is that true?
Also still considering a tundra. So if you have an opinion, on f150 vs tundra I would be interested.

I have often found that dealers are more willing to deal on aging inventory as it gets closer to year end. They're going to make deals to pad numbers and get rid of the 2019's, because they mentally become a year old january 2020. I would also expect shady business on top of a potential smoking deal.

I bought my 2016 F150 in February of 2017 There was a really astonishingly deep discount off invoice cost.
Mind you I'm a former salesman for Ford and intimately familiar with not only invoice but any additional offerings.
Do not accept only local offerings. Insist on the dealer checking every offering in the zone. I bought mine from the local Minneapolis dealer but the actual truck came from Chicago It might have come from Kansas City except the One in Chicago had the better option package.
Delivery from the stocking dealer was included at no additional cost but I had to accept the added mileage on the odometer. ( The warranty started at delivered mileage not zero anyway)
PS It is nearing 50,000 miles and it has been absolutely perfect, better than I hoped for and that is high marks indeed considering how well my previous Chevy PU had served me. (371,000+ miles)
PPS Dealerships try to add on packages where there is additional profit. Rather than reject everything out of hand carefully research them. occasionally there is value in their offerings.
For example I accepted a 3M protectant on the paint on my 1997 Chevy. 15 years later the paint was just first starting to show flaws when here in the rust belt you are lucky to get 5 years.
On my F150 I took a 24 month service plan (Oil changes etc) that was deeply discounted from actual cost and it has better even better than I was told about.
