Nah, if you are going to re-make a Roddy Piper movie it has to be "Hell Comes to Frogtown". Eat Lead Froggies!

All my friends who are not into cars prefer the remake. The car guys could go either way....It's odd to call it a remake, though, since the story is much more like a sequel. Whatever....I'm looking forward to the next one
I would have lvoed the remake of Gone in Sixty Seconds had Nicholas Cage not been in that movie, god he has to be the worst actor ever. His monotone, stuffy, d-bag voice is so obnoxious it makes my head hurt, plus he carries that "I don't care about this movie, I'm getting paid no matter what." Swagger on his shoulders.
Could you imagine if they tried to remake Le Mans or Grand Prix? With modern CGI and sound effects we would get a CG LMP/F1 car with the sound effects from the sound effect intern's Civic Hatch y0!
Oh wait they did re-make Grand Prix....it was called "Driven"

I didn't say McQueen wasn't better, I just said the remake was pretty good.
I'm not a fan of remakes either, I've seen a re-make of Carrie that must make John Carpenter AND Stephen King sick.
I've seen both THING movies. What's scary about a mutant carrot? But make it a .....a, thing, that can mutate into ANYTHING/ANYONE else....scary. Especially since the original Thing didn't eat people.

Blasphemy!

I saw a commercial about an "A Team" movie. Then I go to the theatre and see a preview for "The Golden Girls" movie. I was blow away becasue I thought most of them were dead.
It turns out it was actually a preview for "Sex in the city 2".
An honest mistake, you can hardly tell the difference.

That's true - the Carpenter's Thing was amazing compared to the original. I saw it just the other day and it's held up well for a 25-year-old movie.
