I think they only had the grey ground effects in '86. In '87, they were mostly body color with maybe some subtle accents. The car in the ad has the optional front spoiler extension.

I'm pretty sure I have brochures for both the '86 and '87 in the archives somewhere.

I like it, and it looks like it was done well.

I may be in the minority, but if this was done professionally and works like it should, I can see the price being fair. This is clearly not a hack-job.

In a world of $5K 4-door Novas, and $10K AE86 Corollas, this doesn't seem too out of line. As long as this is a COMPLETED project, not an ongoing one.

Are you to tell me that if i get my MX6 to that level of cleanliness, i could sell it for that kind of money? It's certainly more uncommon...

I have to say that Cavalier looks nice, but I would rather see the same mods done to this J-body:

I'm not saying it would SELL for that......just that his asking price isn't out of line. If your MX6 is that clean, that well put together, and as complete as that Z24 seems to be, sure why not. You'd have to find a guy who is CRAZY about MX6s, but they are obviously out there.

You know, you're quite right. Main thing we've learned on this board is that a car is ALWAYS identical to how it was originally manufactured, no matter how well modified it is. Cars can never be equal to or greater than the sum of their new parts and time spent on them. Oh, wait...

That's true as long as it's a GM because we all know that GM has never made a decent vehicle in their 100+ years of building them.

Man I must have driven the wrong 1g Cavaliers, because I do not remember them as fondly as some others. I look at it and go "Damn thats REALLY well executed". It's clear the owner of the vehicle has put a lot of time and attention into the build. I also look at it and go "There's no way in HELL I'd pay 11k for a Cavalier." Some things just don't wash in my mind. Sorta like the Focus ST. Freakin AWESOME car, but I'm not payin' 29k for a Focus. My brain does some weird E36 M3, but not that weird.

I didn't pay $11k for my 2010 Forte SX with 18k miles on it..... so I'm not likely to pay that much for a Cavy either.

I like it. The price doesn't seem that unreasonable to me.
