Imodium, the Brand name for Loperamide and Lomotil the brand name for Diphenoxylate are both used to curtail diarreah and loose stools. As I have Crohnes, my Doctor has recommended Imodium for when things are less than normal.
The last few months, All of the stores I have visited either have none or very little stock. They have plenty of store brand, but none of imodium. Not even my Doctor seems to know what is causing this problem.
Any clues out there in GRM land?
Ssshhhhh. These folks are quietly buying up the market.
its stocked up at the walmart pharmacy near me. thats in the too much information category though mad machine.
It's probably a function of the name brand losing its patent, and generics running the "Imodium" product off the shelves. No worries - loperamide is the exact same thing.
I wish I knew.. the stores still have spots for imodium... and I find the store brands do not work as well.

Similar thing happened with Pepcid last year, suddenly it was nowhere to be found. Spots on the shelves but no product. Turned out there was some FDA findings at their manufacturing plant and they had to shut down operations for a few months to correct everything.
I hope for your sake it is not similar.
Actually just did some research, looks like it may be related.

Coconut flakes - or a coconut macaroon a day. Works surprisingly well - from the people's pharmacy.
Where has all the Immodium gone? There has been a run on it!

We still have quite a bit at work. Helps to keep everyone in their seat during the day.
