So a few weeks ago I was cruising around harbor freight when I saw their pneumatic brake bleeder. I've struggled with bleeding brakes (find a person, push, twist, stop, twist, release, repeat infinite times) so I figured that 30 bucks would be a good investment.

This thing is awesome!!!! I bled the clutch and all 4 corners of the Miata in 10 minutes by myself. Then the Altima which was just as easy and took as long to drive up on the ramps as to bleed. Why o why have I been bleeding brakes the stupid way when this thing exists??

It's dinner time now but tomorrow the rest of the fleet may get a nice solid bleeding, I'm gonna be like a 1750's doctor and this thing is my leech! Whee!!!

Did you get the one that bolts on top of the master cylinder or the one that is like a little miti vac at the corners.

Miti vac. I have 5 vehicles and none have even similar master cylinders.

I built my own pressure bleeder from an old master cylinder cap and a garden sprayer.

Cost all of $10 and I've done several cars with it.

I've tried the mityvac style units and they've not really worked for me.

I did the same thing and when I'm at the junkyard grab master cylinder caps.

In reply to Ian F: Sorry, I suck at hotlinking. Yes, that's it exactly. Just stick the hose over the bleeder, crack it open with a wrench and pull the trigger. Magic occurs with the "Venturi effect" and sucking happens. Pulls the nasty old brake fluid right through.

My HF bleeder always drew as much air in around the fittings as it did through the brake system.

There's that "chain-link" button right above the . Works well.

I have a cooling system vacuum filler that works the same way.

I agree - I've tried to use my Mity-Vac for bleeding brakes and if the bleeder fitting doesn't thread tightly into the caliper or wheel cylinder, then it tends to suck more air than fluid.

I've used a Vacula for nearly 20 years. Works great. I have a bunch of diy attachments so I can suck fluid out of the master before pulling from the bleeders.

I usally put a Schroeder valve on the cap and use a couple psi to push it through

Hey, us docs still use leaches. I've seen them used by plastic surgeons. So, put your "1750's" "ole-tyme" bull E36 M3 up. Them leaches are "modern medicine." y0.

I use a long piece of clear tubing (nasal cannula O2 tubing is PERFECT) and a jar. Never have a problem doing them myself.
