Looking for a cheap place to stay in Memphis for the family while on a road trip. It's two adults and two kids, nothing fancy, preferably around $60 a night. You know the type of place a Redroof or similar. It shouldn't be that hard, but looking on Expedia everywhere in that price range get's really bad reviews, bad area, not clean and wouldn't stay there again ratings. We just need somewhere nice safe and clean. We'll be getting in on Friday night, crashing then hitting Graceland on Saturday before heading further South. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I stay out near Galloway, TN - I travel a lot and rarely find Holiday Inn type hotels that are near the $60 range.

Aren't the Red Roof's in that price range?

I live in Memphis, and sorry to say, I understand why we get bad hotel reviews. If it were me, I'd stop in Jackson, Tn. if you are driving from EAST of Memphis. If you are driving south, on I-55, perhaps Blytheville, Ar. or cross over to Dyersburg, Tn.

There are interesting places in Memphis to eat your breakfast, if you do decide to stay here overnight, but be forewarned....DON'T LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR CAR IN MEMPHIS, and be aware of your surroundings when you park your car.
