Has a brushless impact, and a brushless drill. And a pair of batteries. Brushless means longer battery life and no brushes to ever wear out and replace. Also gets you started down the Ryobi rabbit hole, which has a thousand different tools that all work with the same damn battery.

I've got that setup. That little brushless impact driver has been driving self-tapping screws into steel girders happily. It would laugh at deck screws.

If you can cope with a cord, cords are awesome. You might get 20v out of a high-end cordless, but the corded one has 110v with a nuclear power plant on the other end.

Pawn shops are a source of decent used tools.

Did they get them fixed under warranty?  Its something silly like 5 years long.

I'm with the others who say don't use a cordless drill for building a deck - that use will chew through batteries in no time. I use a corded Makita as I've managed to wear out cheaper drills. You'll find plenty of uses for it later. smiley
