I got a Droid 4 about 6 months ago, and I love it. I can't live without a slide out keyboard.
It just got the update to IceCream Sandwich, so it's on the current OS.

Swype sucks balls. Swiftkey is where it's at!!!
 I'm still happy with my free Motorola Bravo. It's well behind the times, but reliable. Though it is starting to get to the end of it's lifespan. It was a good intro to android. I'm sure it's one of those things that I'd love a more modern version, but this one works just fine....and I haven't used a newer phone to be jealous of it's features.
My dad just got a Razr Maxx. I helped him set it up last week. Nice phone!
I liked how fast it was. It does have a built-in battery, but so do IPhones, and I usually don't hear complaints about those. ICS seemed really smooth on his phone, and whatever Motorola skin they have on it was less intrusive than the one on his old Droid X. So far, he loves it.
I have a HTC Incredible 2, and I've had it for over a year now. It's been a great phone. I still like it, even though it's outdated.
According to the interwebs, Jesus himself designed the iPhone 5 with Steve Jobs and it will fly and make grilled cheese!
(I love my iPhone, but the hype is getting outta control!)
The Android people do not like the new iPhone 5 because it only works with one god and for grilled cheese you have to buy the bread out of the Apple Store.

And it should drive the price of the 4S down to around $100. And my upgrade is next month
edit-Called it! 16Gb 4S is now $99So can't wait
I like the idea of the MAXX but again its year old hardware. I can get an aftermarket battery for my S3 that's just as large.
All the new Moto phones have already been announced as well. The carriers are just having a firesale to get rid of the old ones now locking you into contract with an obsolete phone.

yeah...found out a co-worker stole my upgrade :( Now I have to see if I can snag a different one in November. grrr

It's not available for my phone via the app store.

I have the GS2 as well. Love the phone, hate Sprint with a passion. My phone hasn't worked correctly since Sprint released the OTA update to ICS.

I have no complaints about my Incredible 2 either. Actually I do like it a lot. I got mine on a black friday deal, free with a new 2 year contract.
Except I hate the on screen keyboard deal (in general, not particularly on this phone). I had a slide out keyboard before, but the phone attached to it sucked. A lot (LG Ally), and it was bulky and heavy in comparison.
Touch screen keyboards seem to be the way 95% of the new phones are and I have accepted that I will just have to deal with it. A larger screen would help tremendously so I will be looking for something bigger the next time around.

Add me to the list of Incredible 2 satisfied customers. Mine even took a drink and I dried it out and it still works great. I do occasionally have some minor glitchiness but no worse than any other computerized product I've ever owned. I don't care that it's got "Sense" on it. It still runs the aps I want to run and just works. I personally don't want my Phone to be a project in my life I have enough of those and get no joy from fighting with technology.
Oh and it's a pretty good Phone. Like calling people it's loud and clear and seems to have a good Mic on it. the speaker is loud enough and the speaker mic is good enough that I can put it on the counter in the kitchen and have conversations without yelling while walking around making dinner.
If you dont need 4g and work out play outside. I like the Samsung Galaxy Xcover GT-S5690.
I ran over my GT-S5690 last week with a shop jack and it did not leave a scratch on the glass. Not so for the case:(

I did quite literally NO research before my last upgrade. Headed into Verizon, told the guy "4G, keyboard, NOT WHITE." Handed me two phones, and one was white.
So Droid4 it is, and I don't hate it. First smartphone I've ever owned that was actually useful AS a phone, as well. Little bigger than I'd like, but has been perfectly reliable thus far.
Had a Droid X since the day they came out. I loved it, used it, abused it, didn't put a screen protector on it, dropped it in the toilet once, dried it out, used it for another two years.... and then I dropped it in a 90' deep lake.
Replaced it with the Galaxy S3 and I couldn't be happier. LOVE it.
Well, the BB developed a dead keyboard last friday and had to be replaced. Ended up walking out of the Verizon store with a Motorola Razr M.
Bigger screen than my wifes Iphone. fast, light.
Not on Jelly Bean (yet), but a nice little toy so far. Still learning how to use Swype.
In reply to Grtechguy: I just got a Razr M last week, too. Quite impressed so far. Battery life blows away the Droid 2 Global it replaced.
Whoa guys, it was already mentioned above that the Galaxy Nexus>all. Who doesn't like bloatware? This guy.
