In reply to RacetruckRon :
No, and if I had gone LS from the start I wouldn't be building headers right now. :-(
That was me, I'm the guy you can bitch at if my booger welds have all disintegrated into a pile of iron oxide already .
But seriously, what's up?
In reply to Furious_E (Forum Supporter) :
Thanks!! I seriously couldn't remember or find the thread.
Mostly, i cant remember the manufacturer. And i was hoping that you might could tell me some tips or install stuff, like top/bottom/stuff that needs yanked.
Gotcha. The headers should be Hedman's. Forget what brand the cat back is, it was on the truck when I bought it from my uncle, but I probably have the receipt for it somewhere in the pile of documents that came with the truck if you really care to know. Looks like he also swapped to a quieter muffler (Walker IIRC?) Y-pipe is obviously a Furious Fab special and I think I had to hack a few inches off the front of the cat back where it mates up. Cat itself is either a Flowmaster or Amazon cheapie, forget which.
As far as the install goes, I think you can get the driver's side in from the top, but the passenger side definitely has to come up from the bottom. You might be able to snake it around the starter, but it was at the very least much easier with it out of the way. Some of the bolt holes are really close to the primary tubes, so a) it's difficult to get a tool on them and b) there are ine or two on each side that have to go in first. Other than that, it's pretty straight forward, orders of magnitude easier than my RX7 was.
