Can't wait for this election to be OVER?
I turn on the news and all that is on is election crap, maybe a blurb on how the economy is doing here and there, but after sitting through a hour or so of all election all the time.
I Dont really like either candidate..
I cant wait to actually get NEWS on the news channels rather then ALL ELECTION ALL THE TIME.
Then again, I guess it is more relevant then Britney's latest breakdown ect...
I mean seriously.. I have seen more videos of reporters trying to corner Bill Ayers then any REAL news coverage in the past few weeks.

There are more than two candidates, you know. Entertain yourself by learning about some of the others.
Frankly, I can't wait for this election to be over, because when Obama inevitably wins, I'm betting the stock market will immediately go up 20% and stabilize, for no other reason than that he's NOT George Bush.
The way the stock market SEEMS to work anymore is like a manic-depressive that refuses to take his/her meds. So even if Obama wins (I think it willbe a REAL squeaker, like the 2000 election) the market may immediately rebound, then drop into the 7000 range.
I mean look at this past couple of months. The price of oil drops...the stocks drop. Interest rates are cut...stocks drop. All the usual news that should have bouyed the stock market, instead acted as an anchor.
BTW, I think we should follow the lead of other civilized countries, especially the U.K. limit the election cycle to just under 60 days.
Don't count your chickens, there Duke. It's gonna be close this time with all the fraud and cheeting by the O camp, but I still put it to Little Mac, 55% probability. I still have some small hope in our country and electorate.
Argh! Let it all be over so we can take a break from all this whiny crap. It's almost as bad as listening to people talking about sports!

I'll take that action. What's the stakes?
Obama by 5% in the popular and 50 in the EC. If McCain can't carry NC, it's over by midnight.

I'm betting it's a bigger margin than that. Not that I'm particularly pleased, or anything, but if we're calling our pockets, I say Obama gets at least +10% over McCain on the popular vote.
My money says Obama takes NC.

I can't remember the last time I saw actual news on the news.
I say 3 days after the election before it is decided and then it goes to McCain (weather he earned it or not.)
You may sense that I have little faith in the system

A thread that started by wishing the election crap would go away has turned to an election discussion
Frankly I'm surprised the bowling thread hasn't turned political.
Its gonna be Obama if he doesn't get found in bed with a dead girl or a live boy. For all the accusations of fraud and stuff, polls show that he REALLY is that popular.
You really can't believe the liberal media who is trying to convince people that Obama is going to win so they might as well vote Obama. The heavy early voter turn out says it's going to be McCain.
Blah blah blah ...liberal media... blah blah... Maverick.
Yeah yeah, sure sure.
All in good fun.

Have you been watching Fox again? CNN puts Obama firmly at 60% of early voting.
I can't believe the race is as close as it is. I expected a much larger point spread in the polls.
And since when has there been liberal media? Where? I want to see it.
We got a flyer in the mail that said "Vote Republican. Vote Early".
So now I want to know is - what do they have planned? What's going to happen between now and Tuesday that's going to make me say "damn, good thing I waited - I was going to vote republican but now I'm not..."
All my hardcore republican friends call it the Liberal Media...And all my Liberal friends say the Conservative control it.
None of them know what they are talking about, it seems!

The great thing about Youtube is that you can find lots of supporters from both camps saying extremely dumb or wrong things in front of a camera.
Edit: And regarding third party candidates, I don't think they're really any better than the frontrunners. It's just that no one from the major two parties has really cared enough to find their skeletons or holes in their policies. And if you're tired of the main two candidates, well, it would be pretty easy to get bored with a sitcom after 600 straight days as well.

anybody hear the Howard Stern clip?

Stern hasn't been funny since about 1986, but he did find someone entertaining to replay.
