I bought a guitar a while back. Great deal. Now I want to sell it.
The problem? The kid I bought it from smoked hookah. A lot of it. The case smells badly of it. I've left it out in the sun, sprinkled baking soda on it, steamed it... Still there.
Anyone able to get it out with anything? Its been 5 years. I've attempted at least 2 of the three mentioned above at least 3 times over the 5 years I've owned it.
Ozone generator? I've heard they can be rented.
All the heads at college used this stuff:

I heard that if you buy a VW Bus Ozium is included
We had a cat (RIP) that had "odor issues." I bought some of that Ozium on amazon to deal with it. It does work. It is a perfume, but it would knock the stink out. After buying that, my amazon "suggested items" bar started having stuff on it like glass pipes and other "alternative" smoking items.

So even after the perfume wore off the stink was reduced/gone? I have mouse stink in a car.....
Just wanted to say a TON of guitar cases sell that way. Its something they use to make the felt lining stick well. I have had at least 4 of them that smell like Hookah all from sellers I know personally.

Well, after the perfume wore off, the main stink had pretty much dissipated. It might work on your car. Dunno. It isn't very expensive.
Even Fabreeze is perfume based. Read the ingredients. It's like corn starch and perfume. I think the only actual real scent killer is going to be the steam or ozone machines that will chemically alter whatever is stinking.
You could also try some rubbing alcohol on the guitar case. Like drench the thing with it, then leave it in the sun to bake out. Or, hey, why not buy a new guitar case?

No, I know what you're talking about. This isn't that.

Not worth it for this guitar.

My observation is that people with a large amount of hookah experience generally have no sense of smell.
...or maybe they don't give a E36 M3.

I have had some success getting rid of skunk odors with this:
Odorgone
So it may be more effective than some of the stuff you've tried.

Cool just checking. I love that ceder and nitrocellulose smell.
