Well, since this thread is back anyway, I'll post my update.
I recently acquired a '94 Peavey Reactor, which is their Tele copy. It's astoundingly good. This is from the penultimate year Peavey was doing their guitar manufacturing in the states, so I got some 'Murican-made twang for less than $300. Surf green, MOTS pickguard, maple fingerboard, blade-style single coils. The neck is a little more modern than I usually like (it's fairly wide and flat, and I usually like 'em thick 'n' chunky), but it's actually a welcome change from the rest of my old stuff.
If you come across a US-made Peavey, snap it up. They're worth every penny to a real player who doesn't care what the brand on the headstock is.
I have my FIL's old banjo at home, been thinking of taking some lessons. Don't really know much about it, other than the fact that it hasn't been played in years. He went to an organ instead. We get that when the MIL passes away. Exactly what I need, an organ that cost as much as a high level BMW, and has more buttons and controls than said car.
For me I just get myself some acoustic guitars. Some are gifts while some are collected. Well, I just collect guitars. I sometimes play them and discover new tunes.
Epi Dot, 60's no name Les copy, 70's no name Tele copy, Greco 12 string, cheapo acustic i got for free, old SEARS banjo, Sam Ash's brand (what ever it is) lefty bass that i turned righty (bought it lefty just to make it righty, hahaa), Old ancient Sears solid state amp, Ibanez amp of some sort, one of thoes Roland micro cubes. Lots O' pedals, favorites are the American and Russian Pi's
Sam Ash was a music retailer back in the day that had their own house brand. Its almost definitely either a re-branded Kay, Harmony or (less likely) Danelectro.
Kay and Harmony built guitars for EVERYONE back in the 50s and 60s, until the Japanese saturated the low end of the market and put them out of business. I had a Kay-made Sears Silvertone, myself. Loved that guitar.
Post a pic and we'll probably know for sure.
Nah, its only about 2 years old.
Ill tell ya when im home from work.
this is mine....looking to trade for an acoustic
Don't know how I missed this thread.
Got a Mexican Strat, a Squier strat - thinking of converting to some humbuckers on it, Yamaha acoustic, and a Taylor as well. Thinking of getting a 12 string, need a Les Paul (Epi), and maybe an acoustic pickup (Fishman or whatever) for the Taylor. PRS's really speak to me, but my abilities or lack there of wouldn't do it justice.
BTW - what happened to Grassroots Guitar build-off? Is it happening? I was really looking forward to seeing what you guys could come with.
Here is a picture of my Tele. Custom shop body with an american strat neck. Someday I will replace the pickups with something more appropriate for a Telecaster.
I use to play back in high school but I screwed up my wrists and sold my guitar for money to fund my Camaro. The guitar was a Hammer Cali Deluxe, absolutely beautiful guitar. Over the years I have tried getting playing again I just have not found the time. Currently have a Les Paul copy and Mitchell solid top acoustic, dirt cheap and very nice sound.
I really do need to start playing again, and singing again. My uncle plays bass, and my girl friend plays guitar.

1956 Gibson Les Paul Junior. Shades of Leslie West.
1965 Fender Mustang (in parts)
1964 Fender Duo-Sonic (that berkelying Liz Phair's got one JUST like it.)
1980s Schecter Strat. Maple body, Rosewood neck (Telecaster Headstock)
Stacked humbuckers, coil taps (So it still looks like a Strat)
Looking at a Joe Strummer Telecaster.
Sold my Vox AC30 Top Boost, 66 ES335, and 72 Martin D-35.
Haven't played much since an arm injury almost nine years back but I've still kept the guitars just in case I feel the need and I do occasionally get them out.
Over here in the UK I've got a PRS EG-3. Unfortunately that's been slightly modded with Seymour Duncan pickups but nevertheless it's a very nice guitar. Lovely sound and more importantly, very light action so I can actually play that from time to time.
Over in the US at my wife's place I've got a G&L ASAT Special Hollowbody. Lovely guitar, I've probably played that more often than the PRS... Not got a picture of either but here's an article with a few good pictures of the ASAT:
