I think if we are going to get Wally a bus, we should look for something sporty, like a Crown Supercoach.

It's got a pompadour!
That is beautiful.
I have enough busses.
Keep repeating that to yourself Toyman.
I'm in for gifting it to Wally for sure though.
I wish I could come up with a reason to get it but I'd hate to just see it sit in my driveway and it would not be happy on a highway. There are pretty much none of those buses around. I dont think I've ever seen another new enough to have dual headlights.

Stampie beat me to it!
i think lots of us here WANT one. Not sure very many of us NEED one...
In reply to 03Panther :
It should be if it's a 6, all ours were. I'm a little surprised being a smaller bus it's not a 4 cyl. Drove one of ours and it's got some pep, in a shorter lighter package it probably drives nice.
I'm not sure if any Driptroit 4 cylinders were used in a bus, so, like you said, prolly the 6. And most back then were NA, so not much I. The way of HP. Lots of fixes for that, but can overpower the rest of the drive train quick
In reply to 03Panther :
The shorter ones could be had with the 4-71 or if you were really pinching pennies a 270 ci gas engine. It's got an old V drive two speed transmission though so like you said extra power is just going to break things. I wonder if the newer four speeds fit not that they're that easy to find. GM was big on the 4cyl for a while, the Scenicruisers were originally powered by two of them so you could cut one off and save fuel.

We were going to pool together money and buy that for Wally.
IN!!!
And what he said ^^
In reply to Wally (Forum Supporter) :
I had thought the dual engined jobs had the 6-71's in them. Did they do some with dual 6's as well?
I did not go too far down the bus rabbit hole, since a slide out is needed for our style, but always have liked and over bus with style
In reply to 03Panther :
I don't remember any with dual sixes. The buses with dual fours were troublesome and when the 8v71s were available they were all converted.
In reply to Caraban :
You can as long as they pass inspection and depending on the age they may need some updating. In past years we've put some of our museum fleet in limited service during the holiday season with buses dating back to the late 40s.
