Your comments seem a little bossy and demanding there Slippery. I suspect it was a business decision to "bookend" the forum with the two busiest sections and therefore draw some action to the less visited sections.
I thought I was the only one having that situation. All the forums are moving around on me, not just the off topic. No big deal, but I hope that isn't a permanent change.

It take me to "latest topics". I don't even pay attention to what forum the topic happens to be in.

they are encouraging you to browse the other areas. Most forums have the off-topic at the bottom of the list.

There is also another solution that another forum I am on did. Registered members only section that doesn't get hit on google searches and what not. Let the political discussions begin!
