If you do, and are in Metro Detroit on June 2, there's a US Premier of the documentary "McLaren" at the Henry Ford giant screen at 8pm.

We are big moving fans, and plan on attending as many movies as we can for this festival, but I know a lot here will be interested in this movie.

Very cool- haven't had a chance to see that yet. Probably don't start mapping out the two weekends until tomorrow, but McLaren is for sure on the list.
Man, that sounds great, but I think it's just too far from me for a 8:00 showing. Thanks for posting.
Man, I'd love to see that. But I might be late
As a reminder- the Detroit Grand Prix is going on that weekend, so the odds of someone taking the short trip from Belle Isle, or wherever they are staying, to the movie are pretty high. So far, they've gotten word that one mechanic from the team will be there, but they are also trying to get some others.
One thing I've noticed in terms of timing- Indy is the weekend prior. And the Canadian F1 race is the weekend after... I've made some stretch and hopeful conclusions with that.
Damn, that looks good. Put me down as a strong "maybe".
Wild horses will have to keep me away.
I'm not just a rabid McLaren far, I have reason to be. My father worked for McLaren in the very early days when they were still in Feltham where my dad was born. I still have one of Brice's business cards and a Christmas card.
That looks like a great time! Would anyone want to meetup and grab dinner before hand?

We will be at a pre-showing reception.
BTW, the movie screen is HUUUUUUGE. Massively huge- so it will be interesting to see something that was shot for probably a small movie house screen on such a big screen.

Tell me more?
We are Michigan Theater donors, and are buying festival passes. And perhaps a little more. So there's a pre-movie reception which starts at 6:30, and a Festival Pass is require to attend.
Other than that, there are no details- just a lot of hope that some extra people will be there.
(as an editorial- if you like movies, and can dedicate a weekend or two to the film festival, getting a pass for the whole event is a great deal. We saw over 20 movies last year between Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Detroit.)

I wish that would come to the IMAX in Sudbury, ON. I would make the trip. Detroit is a good 8 hrs from me.
In reply to NGTD:
Depending on it's reception, it may go other places, this is just the premier.
Don't forget it's this Friday. I've got tickets for myself and Tom Spangler already.

Unless there's a serious issue with us, we will be there.
We have been told that an old mechanic from McLaren will be there, too. I'm hoping that more people are there, considering that Belle Isle is this weekend AND F1 is in Montreal next weekend.
If we are SUPER lucky- one of our favorite McLaren drivers will be there- take an extended holiday in the US before going to Canada and whatnot. But I can't imagine that will happen.
As for the rest of the festival- right now, we have 28 other movies to see over the two weeks as well....
In reply to alfadriver:
Now that's some interesting stuff. I may have to bring a McLaren shirt to be signed.

Who wants to see a movie about McLaren? Only everyone here.
You don't really have to say Bruce McLaren, one name is adequate; sort of like Elvis, everyone knows who you mean.
In reply to Toebra:
Well, it seems to be more of a meeting about him as opposed to the team. So using his first name might be helpful.
Apparantly the DVD version was advertized during the Monaco race on UK TV so my mom ordered a copy for herself after I told her I was going to see it this next week.
OK Alfa, I see the little words 'Film Made possible with Support from Eric and Ines Storhok' That make you my primary contact!! I ordered two tickets for email delivery (not will call or postal) this morning around 9:00am. I expected email conformation immediately, but nothing arrived. I waited until after lunch, but still nothing. I call the number but that foes to the Historic theater and no one is answering. Any idea's if my order actually went through?
In reply to Adrian_Thompson:
LOL!
I'm guessing they did. But I'll ask.
