With protégé lx parts car to swap the BP, g series gearbox, rear disc and those bits. I have a ground control coil over setup, ss brake lines and lots of other bits for the project as well.

Requirements are that you must plan on rally crossing it once complete, have the space and means, both time, funds and desire, to complete the project. And local is preferred as I hope to manage to see it once completed, or at least running. Bonus would be if whoever ends up with it were to buy the slick suspension bits that Ben has for the chassis. A trailer will be needed for each vehicle.

I'll post more about needing to unload it tomorrow when I'm not in as much pain. I have a new #1 seed for pain, hip dislocation. It stemmed from no trauma or incident to the joint, you're all smart enough to do the math and nothing needs to be said further with that regard.

I'd have to come get it, but I'd be willing to take it on if you're OK with my kids learning how to drive in it. Two trips would be hard, but not impossible.

What is needed to complete this car? I could add it to my rallyx rental fleet*?

*Not actually a fleet just a car or two I rent out to friends and friends of friends when they are running.

GLWS, if I had the space and was local I'd be all over this. Alas, I'm outta room and not up for a rallycross addition now.

Trying to stay on topic of the original post...

In reply to moxnix:

It's definitely a project of $20xx level. The rad support is tweaked, but I have a new one, along with a new hood and right fender. The entire car has been stripped to metal and needs rust bullet treatment, which I have and comes with it. The engine swap and rear disc conversion. And I have an evo 16G turbo, m62, m90, and gixxer 1000 itbs that come with it as a pick your poison power adder for down the road. There's a spare g series trans in the truck of the protégé and another bp motor that spun a bearing when running 31lb of boost through a gt35, the rods are forged and good to be swapped over, that head also has a lot of headwork and cams.

The interior is stripped pretty significantly, headliner is removed, as are speakers, rear seats and rear seat belts, brackets and hardware. I have a pair of fixed back buckets that go with the car, the carpeting was going to be removed when I installed them and the harness. I have a functional roof scoop with closeable flap that's yet to be installed that goes with the car, along with a set of Miata daisies and 15" steel wheels (in addition to the 13" steelies on the 323 and 14" cheap aluminum specials on the protégé). I had planned on filling the stock motor mounts with liquid poly during the engine swap process and replacing the rear quarter glass with lexan as well. I have bronze oil shifter bushings that come with it as well.

It should be very capable in the sort once complete, but also something that when I jade my stir would've had me thinking, why didn't they just buy something more capable out of the box. Someone could learn to drive on it, but there are zero creature comforts, it's long down the road of being a fairly focused car.

It'd be a great project for Lance if he ever wanted to campaign something other than a Subaru. Dave S. would be another solid fit. If G Body Man were closer and interested, I would've loved to have seen it end up in your hands as you have the proper passion for automobiles beyond the newest, brightest and shiniest that's rarely seen in people under the age of 40. Cost is $0, so there's no sale, ill just be signing over the titles. O just want to see the project go to the home where it'll be completed as close to my vision and be used and enjoyed, both the process and thru completed product. There's a certain red focus zx3 in Florida that's on a similar path as I envision, though on a slightly less aggressive build trajectory.

Anybody willing to team build this? Like move it to city A for a weekend, have a build party, someone takes it to city b, repeat, etc etc until finished?

I'd love to host it in chicago.

I forgot to add that there's a bullbar setup to mount into the hood latch support with a pair of Hella rounds to mount up to the front as well that go with it.

The traveling build is a cool idea, but there's still a good amount that'll need to be purchased along the way while building, fluids, filters, gaskets, battery. And things that should be done when doing the engine swap, clutch disc. There will be expenses that should be both approved and paid by the ultimate owner as opposed to those helping out with the build.

You're totally right. And I thought more about this over the last couple hours, I might be willing to take this kind of thing on (be a source of funding for parts and materials and handle the coordination). Of course, something like this would need lots of people to donate their time, but I think it is possible.

Let me put some thoughts together over the day and I will contact you this evening.

BTW - I assume this is a FWD 323?
