Madonna's show was every bit as dubious a choice as I'd expected (OK, I had been a bit worried she might have tried something to steal her title of Queen of Shock back from Lady Gaga, but thought it was pretty unlikely). After all, what does Vogue Magazine (the cover showed up in giant pictures on the stage in her first song, in case you had the good sense not to watch) have to do with the Super Bowl? It was sometimes unintentionally funny, but all around, didn't seem to be a good fit for the Super Bowl. I'm sure this forum could come up with a lot of better ideas. I'd go with AC/DC or Rush myself...
(See this link for what's already been done: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Super_Bowl_halftime_shows )
KISS. No special guests, just KISS. Because nobody does an over-the-top stadium show better.
I think it is time we metaled up half-time.
They are too old, just like Madonna and Springstein... Up the Irons!!!
They should just play commercials on a big screen. That is only reason most people are watching the super bowl anyway.
Best Super Bowl Halftime Show Ever would have to be the dude from the Mitty, surrounded by Hongs. halftime is around 8PM, so everyone starts drinking around noon. put a mic on everyone and hope your kids are asleep by then.
KISS started the whole "Big Superstar" thing at the Superbowl. They performed there 10 or so years ago, and now each year they try to top it.
I always find the 1/2 time show kinda stupid. KISS of course rocked (in the corniest way possible), Prince was pretty good, but usually the show is pretty lame and ridiculous.
I'd rather have game analysis, but I'm a football fan, not a pomp and circumstance fan.

I had a pretty awesome Super Bowl party but I only saw the last 5 minutes of the game. I spent the rest of the time bullE36 M3ting, cooking, and stuffing my maw with bi-valve mollusks, hot wings, and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I don't feel like I missed anything at all.
If the 2011 theme was Tron Legacy, where the hell was Daft Punk?
In reply to Giant Purple Snorklewacker:
The Piggly Wiggly had Sierra Nevada 12 packs for $12.99. I bought one. And drank it.

Sounds similar to my undertaking with homemade jambalaya and guacamole, Rogue Dead Guy and Don Julio Anejo.
AC/DC? But then again, I'd miss it. I haven't watched the Super Bowl since the Budweiser frogs did their thing the first time. So, meh.

Crap . . . I went to the wrong grocery store

I have a full-sized beer fridge but it was already loaded down with Sam Adams high gravity beer I found, $4.74 for a four pack when everyone else is charging just under $10.
I bought the Sierra as my light beer.
A marching band...any marching band. All this other nonsense just detracts from the game.
I liked Madonna's half time show, and I'm no Madonna fan. But I really did think it was a good quality spectacle and presentation.
But to answer the original question: the reunion of Guns N' Roses with Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff, and Steven! Today was Axl Roses birthday... he's 50, (when the berkeley did that happen!?!?!!!) so they better get to it ASAP if it's ever gonna happen.

+1, if we can get the "Fear of the Dark" in the set list.
Nothing will ever be as sad or horrible as the Who.
