Why does it seem most americans hate hatchbacks yet love CUVS?

I just call mine a wagon. Don't know or care if it is a CUV or SUV.

I dig that. I'm no CUV (or SUV or truck unless really needed) advocate, but I sorta get them. Lots of people like being up higher (though, personally, I like being lower) as it connotes some degree of safety and control. I have several friends on the shorter side who really do feel like the additional height of a CUV improves their driving comfort. As long as they remain courteous and conscientious drivers, it really doesn't make a difference to me.
