Everyone present has now been accounted for, according to reports, as thunderstorms batter the Interstate 4 corridor from Tampa to Orlando today.
My father flew out of Tampa this morning. His flight was delayed a couple of hours and he missed his connection in Atlanta. Now he's stuck there for the next six hours.
I am now frantically searching Craigslist...
Carnival cruise ship in Cape Canaveral broke it's moorings, two reported tornadoes in Tampa, and hail on the Shuttle as well. Some wicked weather out there now. I just called the family and checked in on everybody, all OK.
Keep the hatches battened down at GRM HQ, maybe have Per start on an Ark...
And we have snow on the ground still. I hope everyone's ok.

A podcast from a writer to his editor from Sun n Fun. He said it was the worst storm that he has seen, and he does not want to see another one like it.

It wasn't too bad around our offices. Lots of rain, but not much else.

That's about 35 minutes from here. The weather has been fairly fierce.....a neighbor lost a tree, and there were several other trees down on/along on roads I took to get back to work. I didn't see any that blocked both lanes of traffic, but power line that was down took care of that, forcing me to take an alternate route at one point. We were without power at work from the middle of lunch until they finally let us go home at 3:30....no work got done in that time, but we all had to stick around in case the power came back.....
I was out driving during the worst of it, and can honestly say that it was only slightly less intense than hurricane charlie in 2004 (yes, I was driving during that, too.) Basically, it was horizontal rain and hail at what I'd guess was 50 mph....100 foot visability.
Glad the people are OK. We had a micro burst at Oshkosh one year. Gnarly.

If Per built an ark, it would be probably a little oddly proportioned, and most likely some shade of green formerly used on ACR Neons, but would be upgradeable and use motorcycle suspension, so I say go for it!
Wow, when that band passed over us this morning it wasn't that bad. I hope everyone made it through ok.

Good. Yeah, there is some genuinely strange stuff going on weather-wise.
Snowed/snowing today in RI. Some of MA is supposed to get a decent amount of snow--hasn't happened this late in 15 years.

Obviously chump change compared to microbursts and hurricane winds, but still strange. 
Yeah, I think we survived. Yesterday seemed to be windier at GRM HQ. It hit right after 5:00 and passed through in about 15 minutes.
Today I had one small branch fall--and we have a thick canopy. My tree guy rules. Everything out front is covered with leaves, though.
