Wifey wants a camera to watch the dogs while she is at work. Mostly because my wife loves the dogs and would love to see her dogs while at work.
Any such setups for that that anyone is aware of?

Curious about this as well.
I've read about some that setup an old tablet or mobile phone to use as a remote wifi camera. Don't know what software.
I'm "almost" interested. If I had a job where I could sit and watch it all day I'm curious as to how many times the cat wakes up just to lick her shiny happy person. But I don't and SWMBO would probably get fired because she would spend every minute of every work day watching. I don't think we could afford that $24 camera...
Check out the digital baby monitors, especially now with Xmas coming. Get a set with video for like $50-60 on sale.
I feel that my border collie would figure out how to turn the camera towards the wall and we'll I'm also always home with them

Are they hiring at her place of employment?
The thread title had me imagining ways to mount cameras ON a dog. Which I think would be super entertaining.
Look into a free app called Alfred.
Using any old cell phone that you may already have, you can hook that old phone up to the house WiFi and then via Internet, view that camera, live from anywhere.

They may be soon.
I saw this but thought that my dog would probably ignore it once he realized it was me calling.http://www.icpooch.com
Baby monitors are continuous.
Wildlife cameras are motion activated.
Both could work exceeding well at removing your wife from her current position of employment.
There are plenty of ways to do it, including with an old phone or tablet, or an always-on computer with a webcam. When I saw the thread title I thought it would be about strapping a camera to the dog. I'm kind of disappointed
We've gone through a few baby monitor cameras and this is basically the same idea. The best one so far is this one:

It's got pan/tilt so you can aim it at what you're interested in. Digital zoom but that's not great. The audio works and the mic is very sensitive but the quality of audio isn't great. Video quality is decent over wifi and shockingly good if you can hardwire it. It works remotely and doesn't use a ridiculous amount of data. (Like 40Kb/s)
Like all of these it's clunky and you're using a third party server to authorize you so you have to trust them some. It's free - no monthly charges or anything - but it's something to keep in mind. It does warn you if someone (including yourself) has logged on using a different device.
It uses the EyeCloud app for your phone or tablet. I haven't tried viewing it on a computer.

So I'm not the only one.
For her being able to do this at work, she's in outpatient and frequently has 30 minutes between patients.
If she just watches the dogs occasionally instead of goofing off on message boards she should be ok.

Me too. I'm considering a gopro on Maggie's collar now.
Haha I setup an old usb webcam to my laptop and let it stream using Yawcam software. Worked decent enough since he was restricted to a small area of the yard. I need all the way around the house now since he off leash at the house all day, and apparently trying to get into a scrape with the local 10 point buck that's getting territorial since it's rut season.
