I tried hooking my computer up to my TV / hometheater system thru an HDMI cable. When I turned the TV on, I was prompted if I wanted to use that as the monitor, I selected yes not realizing that would now be the new default setting. Does anyone know how I can change it back and to set the default that it will prompt me about using the device connected to the HDMI cable as the monitor?

Its not bad when I have it hooked up to the TV but when it is just plugged into the back of the receiver, as soon as I hit the power button the receiver, I no longer have any video from the laptop's monitor. I can not find where those default settings are.

Thanks, Keith

My last two laptops, and acer and a sony both had function keys to toggle between external and internal monitors. The sony is Function F7, I think the acer was the same.

Yep its usually a function key on a laptop. Look for one with a screen icon on it.

My guess is that you are not on a laptop.

I wish you luck, vista is kicking my butt right now due to a bad drive after 1 month of ownership.
