Well the "VW Van" in the classifieds for some reason reminded me of this long lost (maybe it should have stayed that way?) 70's tv show from my youth. This was one of many shows that Sid and Marty Krofft did back then but it was car based which is what I liked about even at 5-6 years old lol.

I'm pretty positive that I had a small battery powered toy of that car. It was one of those that would go straight forward and turn in reverse.

I never did either until I watched the OP's video. It was the same color with the same graphics on the side.
I remember that show. At least I think I do. I have a memory of of the buggy as a jalopy stuttering through a junkyard and going through some kind of barrier and emerging all shiny and running well. I think the kids driving it had new clothes afterward too.

It is definitely the show I remember. I attempted to watch a whole episode. The black dude talking jive that was obviously written by a square white guy was awkwardly hilarious.
Sidenote :
I will be referring to the falcon as schlep car from here on
