A federal judge is allowing a negligence lawsuit to proceed against the publisher of the online virtual-world game Lineage II, amid allegations that a Hawaii man became so addicted he is “unable to function independently in usual daily activities such as getting up, getting dressed, bathing or communicating with family and friends.”

Among other things, he alleges he would not have begun playing if he was aware “that he would become addicted to the game.”

So a warning when he logged on would have prevented him from playing 20,000 hours?? Come on. Ron White has it right - you can't fix stupid!

Given that he has sued the state a few times over trees and parks, and been smacked down by the court each time I doubt he has any sort of case. Also the judge threw out a good chunk of the case due to his inability to file correctly. (He is representing himself)

Just because the case is going to court does not mean that it has any sort of merit. It just meets the legal requirements to file.

Also you can see in the original filings on this one that the judge basically took him to task for wasting the courts time.

I would spend all my time on the computer and never talk to anyone if MY name was Smallwood, I am just saying.
