I've had worse reasons for a road trip, sounds reasonable to me.  What are we driving?  Any fun roads?

I-4, likely. I know, yay. I guess I could cut through DeLand to make it “interesting.”

I’m going to Orlando this weekend, so I might just stop off then.

Sounds like a good reason to visit your parents.  Buy a couple jars while you're there so you don't run out.

Soon! But I wouldn’t mind some mustard before we make the next trip–and, rookie move, I forgot to grab some during our latest visit.

The willingness to drive 74 minutes for a jar of mustard depends on personal preferences and the significance one attributes to that particular mustard. It's akin to choosing custom 30 inch wheels for a car – a matter of individual taste and priorities. What might seem extravagant to some is a unique choice for others, emphasizing the subjective nature of such decisions.

I don't even really like mustard but I'd go.

I'd find another reason or two to make the trip, then do it.

But if you're really good, mustard will come to you.

No, seriously, sold a lawn tractor to a guy yesterday, and he gave me a jar of his own German style mustard, one of the products he markets for his micro food business.

I worked for a chicken company and my main account was Publix. I had to send a whole case of a product to a customers house because they complained to the Publix manager about the store not having it. We wrote it off as a free sample, and it made everyone look good!

So I would definitely talk to Publix and who knows, you might get a whole case free!

Okay, I forgot to buy something when we went shopping the other night, so I’ll swing by the customer service desk.

Will report back.

A fun car and good tunes, and I can use anything as an excuse for a road trip.

I once drove 2.5 hours one way for a breakfast burrito and potato pancakes.  I had a hangry craving that could not be satiated with plebian food locally, so I loaded up and drove to my favorite greasy spoon.  Twisty roads in rural country was just the bonus. Well worth it.

Just in case the drive is too far. Amazon Link.

I'll have to give this stuff a try. I generally like Frenches Classic Yellow mustard or KA-ME hot mustard. Too many of the fancy mustards have little to no depth to their flavor.

I have an uncle who's a high-end chef, he knows a guy who sent his pilot on his private jet from Barbados to Miami for a jar of coffee...

Me too.  But in this case, I would just get it on Amazon or order from the website.  I sometimes go for the experience... like a favorite restaurant.  I'll drive 3 hours round trip to go to the Jean Bonnet tavern in Bedford, but just for mustard that I'm enjoying at home, Prime free delivery would be my go-to.  Only way I would drive for mustard is if I were visiting the factory tour or something like that.

We drove 5.5 hours to another country for poutine with our kids.  Customs looked at us weird that we were in Canada for only 6 hours....

Always up for a road trip.

I personally would not but I respect the hell out of those who would.  I drove to Ocala for Bojangles (2hours) because I got hooked on it when I was in the service and Ocala was the closest one before they put one in Maitland.  So for mustard...not me but I totally get it.

I haven’t had Bojangles in a million years. Isn’t there one just off I-4 in Sanford? I have thought about making that stop on the way back from Orlando.

And I know I said 74 minutes to get the mustard, but I bet the trip takes at least 90. Figure you have to park, actually get the mustard, pay, walk back to the car, etc. Plus I still need to pick up the Magic Erasers that I forgot to get the other night.

For some reason, I thought you were in Orlando. Yeah, might have to stop there one day.

Sort of related, I’m embarrassed to say that I still haven’t visited the White Castle in Orlando. The reason? It’s allllllllll the way on the other side of town. I’ll be in Orlando this weekend, but looks like White Castle is still another half an hour away. Still, it’s been a while....
