Championships show consistency. Winning a race could be just luck. My best ministock season I won the most features, won at other tracks I visited, won the big season ender non-points invitational, but lost the Championship by 1 point. Maybe being so close makes it hurt more, but I want the Championship.

Tony Stewart won the championship BECAUSE he won more races. I like the old F1: 10-6-4-3-2-1. Puts more emphasis on winning.
And luck is nothing more than good preparation and timing.
