That's so weird, I got "the call" while on a flight too. My phone was off of course, but while waiting to get off the plane, I checked messages and got the news. Funny how the hard working people who are on a plane before the sun comes up, away from their families for the company, are the ones they don't have the decency to meet with in person.
I once spent a week picking my boss's damn cotton test plots by hand while he was in Philly for a managers meeting. What they were discussing was who they were going to E36 M3 can. Yup, I was one of them. I heard via a phone call from the boss when I got back home. With the severance package, my income ceased a few days before Christmas.
And just when we think it can't get crazier....
I despise most country songs, but apparently I'm going through the Big D and I don't mean Dallas.
Oh man seriously? Next your dog will run away with your grandma or something. Good luck man.

...or trains, or trucks,
or prison or gettin' drunk.
Harsh times. So sorry to hear.

Wow that is quite an awful combo. Hang in there. It can only get better from here.

Ouch. Perhaps a good time to cut ties and relocate?
I have faith in your strength in the face of adversity, after all, you attempted a Biturbo as a DD.
Compared to that, this should be easy.
about time to make lemonade
good luck
Listen to Merle Haggard man. If you make it through december...
Either way: We got an extra room, legal pot, and I could always use your expertise with the Alfa
Cheers!

If there's something I learned from my experience is that with that much bullE36 M3 at once, there's something better on the other side. It worked out for me, it will for you, too.

Sounds like 2016 is ending for you how 2015 started for me.
Divorce, give up house, lose dog, get laid off, all in the course of about 3 months. Then got laid off again in January.
And I got a call this morning that mom had a stroke... berkeley me

Damn, dude. Hopefully it's not too bad.
In reply to m4ff3w:
Not to make humor of your situation but "Mama" is one of the required elements of the perfect C&W song. Do you have a dog that you have not yet mentioned?

It's that time of year. I got news yesterday that I lost my other Grandfather at 93years. Less than two weeks after the last.
You'll make it through this.
First off let me say that I am sorry that you are in these positions Maffew. It will be hard dealing with which is the big picture and which is the small picture problem. I would ask your wife if she would be amenable to delaying any proceedings until there is stability in your life. I never made that request and it took 5 years to get my ship righted. If she will then play nice and follow through with what you must do to keep the homestead moving forward.
As far as employment goes how bad is the job market you are in for your current career? If it is an open market with the possibility of placement then awesome, I'm guessing that isn't the case. Is the problem in what you do or where you do it?
I relocated AND changed careers two years ago because not only WHAT I did for a living was going no where but WHERE I lived was just as bad. I was 70 miles east of my kids and moved 50 miles to the west of my them and found a career doing something I could live well on in a depressed community that is surrounded by great places to be.
It will all work out, but until it does do not hesitate to give us a call.

Life hits in threes. Sorry to hear about your mom, but do I dare say that at the very least you can look forward to not getting hit again and can focus on getting your feet back under ya?
