In reply to jimbojones:

I apologize for this, really... I (used to) adore WRC

I just can't get excited over Ford vs. Citroen

Maybe some privateer will come out of nowhere to liven things up. Probably not.

It's been Ford vs Citroen for a few years now, actually. At least there are two fast teams to keep things interesting.

And you know what I watched, in every recap I got to see? The backmarkers. I didn't give a rat's ass about the battle for the championship, or which manufacturer had more cars in points scoring places. I watched to see the Subarus moments of speed, the "plucky" Suzuki boys givin' 'em hell. I even longed for the years Skoda had a team.

Sorry, not happening this year.

I used to pull for the Skoda guys (and the other underdogs) as well. Yeah I know they are actually part of VW but so what.

If all you need is a brief highlight of a non-Ford/Citroen team, then you'll get those. Petta and friends aren't going away, they're simply going to be driving different cars. We might even see more privateer cars going fast instead of simply filling the field. Loeb won the championship with a private team, remember.

The Subaru moments of speed have been brief of recent years

Keith is right. I'm all for seeing some privateer cars up around the pointy end.

You'll need to log in to post.
