But three minutes after the completion of the auction, I get an email that the seller has cancelled the auction due to "item out of stock".
I'm pretty sure the seller was just unhappy with the final price (I was very happy). It was a regular auction and the quantity was 1.
Does the seller still pay eBay for this auction? Is this some sort of scam?
Still sad I don't have a $129.5 +50 shipping nitrous kit on the way.
Probably seller flaking out at the final price, it's happened to me a few times but not recently, especially with cars
Sometimes after a couple days reflection, not winning turns out to be a win.
In reply to Robbie (Forum Supporter) :
I had a seller do similar to me on an odd lot of vinyl wrap. Then they relisted it at a higher price. I sent them a don't be a dick message and didn't hear back. About a week later a package full of vinyl was sitting at my door at no charge. In your case I would check to see if they relist it and if they do report them to ebay.

It happens often, I think it's some kind of scam to trick the algorithim to get their listings to show up higher.

Maybe this will take you to the auction.
Nitrous kit with solenoids, lines and bottle, but also an interesting looking possibly standalone but likely piggyback ecu unit for 5.0 ford's.
Anyway, the ecu stuff is probably next to useless if it's old and no longer supported, but still cool.
I'll be watching for it to show up again in the next few weeks.
Report them. You can do that. If everyone does it they get bad ratings. You can also still leave negative feedback for them, even if you didn't get the item.
I would report them for sure, that's unethical.
That has happened to me a few times. Report.
