This one should be pretty simple.  No complex tech here.

Here is a terrible picture of the sketch I made for the back counter/shelving unit.

I'm cutting the other slab of granite into 19" and 15" (from a 34x85" slab).  The 19" slab will go on top of some wall cabinets bumped up with a toe kick to a standard 36".  Then on top of that goes a 2' high hutch on top of which will go the 15" slab.

Notice the "feet" under the ballusters.  On the end panels, I have some decorative shoe molding that I will put inside and out to increase the footprint.

Is this a job for more silicone?  I have some good epoxy, would that do the trick?  This base cabinet will be anchored to the wall, but likely not the hutch (there is only a short wall where this will be sitting.

Should I scuff the polish off the granite where this hutch will be adhered?  I thought about drilling/bolting, but diamond bits are expensive and I'm sure a masonry hammer drill will turn my countertops into lovely garden pebbles.

In reply to Curtis :

I believe silicone will still be your best bet when adhering wood to Stone.

Although I'm sure the epoxy will work.

With silicone there is no need to rough up the surface but I'd say it would be necessary with epoxy to give it something to grip to.

Thanks, Nick.  Just don't want to lose 10 bottles of wine.  That would be alcohol abuse.
