My other car's a jet... Or how to turn a garage door into a work of art
More pics at the link.
At first glance, this looks like a very well-to-do neighbourhood. One in which Formula One racing cars, private jets, speedboats and the kind of equipment that any fledgling rock band would be proud of are left lying around in the garage.
In fact, these utterly realistic images are printed on plastic sheets which are stuck on garage doors - the latest craze for home owners who want to not so much keep up with, as totally freak out, the Joneses.
The weather and fire-resistant prints are designed to disguise that boring, flaky, greying metalwork. Held in place by industrial strength Velcro, they are easy to change and virtually indestructible.
I don't know, I kinda like the Gator. A passive theft deterrent
Hahaha, these would be GOLD in a busybody HOA neighborhood.

Why are they fire resistant?

That is too cool to even comment on; I'm floored!
I wonder if I could get one of a slaughterhouse full of dead hookers... That would wake up the neighbors.
Looks like they only work on flat doors, not the sectioned bendy kind.

I have a straight edge and a sawsall...
Wanna bet you'd get a citation from the HOA for looking like you had left your garage door open?

Or for painting your garage door an non-approved color...
I don't know. Interesting idea, but the pictures look very suspiciously "Photoshopy". The F-18 door clearly showed corrugated doors and none of the others seem to show any texture, they also all are very clear. The airliner shot is of a Southwest 737 (2 engined) with two engines "cloned" onto the wings.
But it is on the internet, so it must be true...
Another million dollar idea I wish I had thought of first
Brilliant!

They would never look that good in reality, still better than a drab garage door though.

This one for me! Now all I need is a garage!
Edit: Hold on, where did the back of the car go? Looks like an amateur photoshop

I want one that looks exactly like what is inside of my garage so it looks open no matter what.
And then setup a hidden camera to catch people bouncing off of it...

A giant vinyl print glued to the door would look just like that, with the door at the same distance as you are apparently standing in these pics. just like any other printed billboard off a large format printer.
