No pictures (I'll ask mom to email them to me) but the high school I went to in the northern burbs of Chicago closed today for flooding. First time ever as far as anyone can remember.

My wife's sister and family live in Park Ridge. They have ankle-deep water in their basement.

My cousins live there. They probably have it too, wouldn't be the first time.
Same storm we're getting here in Texas. Only light rain for us. I remember watching the Grand River flood a couple of times as a kid. It was always impressive. Stay safe.

Eh, count me in with that group.
Snow tires, I've found, are some seriously non-hydroplaning tires, so they're great even in heavy rain.

We really, really needed a couple inches of this rain about August of last year. The good news is I went 2 months without mowing my lawn last summer.
Those pictures really make me sick. We were flooded in sept 2011 And are just getting our house finished now. My heart goes out to those ppl affected. Flood mud is horrible stuff and you will find it In stuff years later

My property drains to the west side. Maybe the whole state does.
Should be interesting, they are expecting the floods to crest on Monday, with the Grand River being 28ft above normal.
I'll be out with my camera for sure. So far I just have a little seepage in the basement that the shopvac can keep up with. Some neighbors are getting involuntary installed swimming pools in their lower levels.
edit: this is a staircase that leads down to a boardwalk.
