Yeah, the Cubbies blew it. they should have at least gone to the Series. And the Rays sucked a$$- deserved to lose. I'm happy for those damn Philly fans.

A bunch of my friends were Little Flyers and we were there to see the Flyers win way back. Was a fantastic time until we saw a guy get run over by a bus just outside. Anyone remember that?

I'm working downtown today so i'll get to see the aftermath of all the mayhem. A newstand went through a business window somewhere. Hopefully I can get somewhere near the parade tomorrow even though i'm working. Taking the train down and home is going to be a colossial bitch!

Best quote

"Brian Blair, a young man, shirtless, was emblematic of the crowd. He waved his T-shirt wildly over his head. Why? "Because I'm a Phillies fanatic and I'm drunk.""

Dozens of people partied in the streets until nearly 10 p.m. then everyone went on with their lives.

hahaha no...

This is philly..

In 1968 we pelted santa with snow balls cause he was holding up an eagles game

Frank Olivo -- the erstwhile Santa in question -- wasn't drunk, nor was his red suit in tatters that December day in 1968 when he walked onto the field for the halftime show, only to be met by a chorus of jeers and a snowball fusillade from Eagles fans.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=nfl&id=1980880

The Eagles fans' behavior during a Monday Night Football loss to the San Francisco 49ers in 1997 and a Dallas Cowboys game a year later was such that the City of Philadelphia assigned a Municipal Court Judge, Seamus McCaffrey, to The Vet on game days to deal with fans removed from the stands. Two years later, fans threw D-Cell batteries at St. Louis Cardinals outfielder J.D. Drew after he spurned the Phillies' offer to play with them, and wound up going back into the draft and picked by the Redbirds.

We hit the cardinals outfielder with D-cells..

Then there are the stories we cannot tell, My dad knows Judge McCaffrey personally..

Haha... When my dad was in college in the 70's, he was on a floor with a bunch of guys who were in honors everything and the business frat, etc. etc. They all put up pictures on their doors, stuff like Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer with clubs raised over their heads. My dad put up this one of Bobby Clark:

Most of the ruckus was caused by drunken college kids (Philly and the surrounding area is a mecca for colleges).

I got out of there before it really started to go downhill (ie: looting).

Philadelphia fans are so hyped up by the media to be this rowdy bunch, it's a small handful, that we almost start to believe that it is expected of us to act that way.

The fathers of those college kids (when they were college kids). You might find this interesting

Penn State had riots this past weekend as well. Might just be a PA thing.... I'm from South Jersey, so what do I know

Forgot to add that I think Fox did a TERRIBLE job when it came to announcing. I had 1210am on the whole time (Phillies broadcast with Harry Kalas)..

Here is how it was called

The lovely philly fans flipped my friend's car (on Broad Street) while they were "celebrating".

Way to go.

No, I was sober and was too busy avoiding thrown bottles. I already had enough of the crowd by the time they got out of control.

What car was it? There are videos online.. http://www.philly.com/philly/video/33593074.html

and there are some on youtube of a darker car being flipped.

Ahh Penn state. Had a friend who went there, He said you could always tell the philly people from the pittsburgh people. the Philly ones were yelling swear words continually and cursing out the opposing teams mother who apparently was part of a donkey show.. The things you hear in college...

So then the best story I have is when some girls came out at half time at a game. They were getting a check from some place for juvenile diabetes or some other thing. Aparently the Philly half of beaver stadium thought that the ceremony to hand over the check to little kids with cancer or something was taking too long.. Boo's and curse words commenced.

Penn state fans also like to rip the goal posts out of beaver stadium and deliver therm to the lawn of Joe Pa's house. Penn state got wise to this and now they are quick detach(I don't think this is that unique to Penn State)..

And as much as I love my old city, no way I'm rasining my children there... They don't need to be as messed up as me.
