This is a brief summation of how the ride home with my child went this morning. We listened to DJ Snake and Lil Jon, on repeat. (He likes bass in the car, metal at home. Whatever.) I was wandering brainlessly over what to purchase for a replacement DD for the wife. Saw a 1g LS400. Remembered they were pretty fast, bulletproof, and comfy. Wanted one. Also remembered a Toyota Sienna AWD I know of sitting in a garage unused, made a mental note to call on it, again and lowball the guy. Made me think about the dream swap Ben (Swank Force One) and I have talked about- Toyota v6+BT+E153 trans into 1g ES300 for ALL the trolling. Started thinking about being quoted in this issue, and what other toyota parts go together. Briefly wandered over to DSMs. Back to Toyotas. Then things get kinda murky, and the next thing I know I'm pondering the merits of a supercharged SB?(v8 of indeterminate origin) Ford Tempo, in that lovely Tempo aqua green. That's how my drive home went.

Yep, but not the RIGHT Toyota V6. The one in the Sienna is better. IDEALLY what I want is one of the two years they actually made the ES300 with a manual (92-93 if memory serves) with a Sienna swap. Saves me the work of having to move a pedal box. REALLY want a beige Camry wagon of roughly that era, but not sure if any were had with a manual.

Also considered how a set of Compomotives would look on SyntheticBlinkerFluids' Corvair, since Chebby likes to use weird Euro bolt patterns.

Beige, for extra irony

Hence the Es300. There's two versions of this build in my brain. One is a Camry as described, one is a Green and Tan two tone ES300 with the gold package (you know the car I'm talking about, I'm pretty sure half the ES cars of that era were that color). Basically as non descript as possible...

But like this. I know it exists. I wish to duplicate.

I do not see the appeal of super high-powered FWD cars, and I won an autox championship in a 470whp SMF Integra.

There is a certain amount of zen in the hilariously stupid. I wish to see if that amount zen increases with the amount of stupid. Plus its trollimg with a Camry.

Did the GRM Camry article do nothing to convince you that "performance camry" is ALWAYS a terrible idea?

If you're dead-set on it, find an early 90s camry coupe (they were almost always 5 speeds) and turn it into a shooting brake

Articles like that do little to dissuade me once I have my mind set on something. And while I'd LOVE to have a coupe, there's actually sporting aspirations in those. We're going for blue-hair special here.

I love the thought of a old fogy car with stupid power. One of the reasons I always enjoyed placing in FS with a V6 T-Bird.

I think you should build it. Start now.

And about the Auto ADD, we all have it. Get over it and enjoy the variety .

I enjoy every second of it. I don't go 5 minutes on the road without mentally building some freak of nature out of someone elses car using components found on the cars around it, the stuff in my storage locker and what I can get for 50 bucks at Home Depot. Being able to mentally picture mechanical workings is a blessing and a curse I tell ya.

This time it was.... "I'm a DSM whore and I stopped reading at AllTrac. Clearly that's the answer" or something along those lines. I've been quoted 3 other times, too. Once about cookies, once about useless turbo theory, and one time I don't remember.

I know how you feel.

We blew up our turbo rotary at WG this past weekend. The first thought was WWGRMD? I figured F2T was the answer. Then I figured I couldn't do it within budget. I haz a sad.

Well... F2T should be cheap, but i don't know if it's Lemons cheap. N/A F2 should easily be lemons cheap.

Does lemons have a same price rule? Cause i'm pretty sure we could all agree a rotary is the same price as an f2t.

Hell, a running turbo rotary is probably more expensive than a running F2T.

True. However, my starting value (for Chump) is $475.00. There is a $50 or $75.00 swap surcharge. Therefore even if the F2T cost $3.48 and the rotary was $47K, my value would still be at least $525.00.

Therefore it is a no-go.

I could get the car valued as an NA ($350) do the swap and pay the surcharges for engine AND trans and only be at $425.00.

That is something to think on.....
