1. take 4' section of 4" x 4" post 2. place it upright balancing it on top of your cheap jack 3. jack up, until the top end of post meets bottom of the bumper you are trying to raise 4. get down on your knees and continue to jack up 5. wait until the weight of the vehicle is resting on the top end of the post 6. wait for the post to snap out and hit you right square in the nose 7. in complete surprise spin around (still on your knees) looking for a box to collect the bounty of your stupidity.

I don't want to sound like a dick, but based on that contraption, you are berkeleying lucky thats all you broke.

Think these words to yourself next time you try something like that: "Hey stupid, whats gonna hurt me here?" If it helps, think it in your Moms voice.

i'm sure there's a perfectly logical reason why you didn't just jack on the bottom of whatever it is that you were jacking up.

Yeah I'm wondering what was being attempted here with the strap and chain.

(what's being jacked up is a Yamaha Rhino-like "UTV")

not a dick at all, and i am suppose to use the voice of swmbo,(she warned me about this kind of jackstand bull E36 M3)sorry no video at least none i will post, the reason i could not jack from the bottom is that would raise the whole machine, more of a shatter to the tip of the nose than a break, nothing to be done but ice and hold your fool head back....i was trying to jack up the corner of the bumper and pull down on the part of the cage that meets the bumper so you can run a gaint allen bolt through there to tie them together, how did i get it done you ask? screwed a big eyebolt to the floor joist and pulled up with the strap and down with another strap....E36 M3 happens when you work by yourself, ( i did not see that coming) lol...thats a 2014 custom built polaris rzr xp 1000cc 4x4 that i built for a rich dude, his parts bill alone is over 33k, oh to be rich....and have a straight nose.

There's nothing like a nose when it comes to bleeding all over the place.

You should bottle the blood with some sweat an tears and attach it to the quad. That way you have a legit reason to charge more for realz. (Yes, in the lines of what Gearheadotaku said)

When I saw that floor jack, I knew what happened. Floor jacks do not raise straight up. The pad travels in an arc. Glad nothing more serious happened.
