Just a thread to play off of the lotto thread and Christmas spirit.
If you hit the big 'un, what 5 cars would you buy for others? Who are they for and what's the significance?

after that I'll need more friends.
Mine would be:
It's her favorite Mustang, and she's been wanting one for a few years now.
She's getting tired of the Ford 500 and really like the Edge.
This is his actual old car. It was originally Red but the PO painted it an incorrect R/W/B, but looked badass. He had to sell it when I was in High School to rebuild the motors in his Cessna 310. I'd honestly have a hard time not keeping this one for myself! I drove this car on Daytona Speedway at 14 (idling for the Spring Spectacular photo, but still ).
Again, that's his actual car. Bought it new in 68, raced it and owned until last year when he had to sell it to raise some money for his new business (and because he didn't want his 3 kids to fight over it). It's in a museum now.
SWMBO wants to autocross one, and she'll want to share with Javelin Jr.
2012 Cadillac CTS and a 68 1/2 Blue Roadrunner for my FIL, he is the nicest and most wonderful man I have ever met, he is due for a nice road car and his favorite car he ever owned was a brand new RR back in the day.
A brand new Lexus for my Mum, because well, she's my Mum.
As above for MIL.
A top of the line F350 for my wife, turbo diesel with all the bells and whistles.
A newer BMW for our son, he is a good kid and gets excellent grades and in 2 years has not had a single incident in the 330xi..
Number one: Grandpa gets a Bentley convertible. His dad started this whole car sickness thing, he passed it on to all of us. He has a thing for convertibles. And luxury.
Mom gets a Subaru Outback, because that is exactly what she wants.
Dad gets to pick his out.
Little brother gets a 1994 Buick Park Avenue.
Mom gets a new convertible Corvette. She's always wanted one.
Step Mom - 1959 Caddy conv. Big fins oh yeah!
Dad - Black Bugeye Sprite like the one he had new.
My Brother get's a Hemi 'Cuda.
A new Malibu for one of my buddy's down on his luck and could use a good reliable car.
How about buying annoying cars for annoying family members?
Sister-in-law would get a Toyota Yaris. "Hey, I bought you a BRAND NEW car, whatcha complaining about?"
Dad - Healey 3000
Mom - 71 Z28
Wife - 72 Corvette
Brother - RX7 GSLE (?)
Sister - Something girlie, safe, and reliable. Mercury Mariner maybe?
1) Wife-911 Carrera 4 w/ PDK. "Low" powered AWD sports car with an auto, a nice sporty DD for a regular driver
2)Dad- Loaded V6 Mustang 'Vert, Blue/white stripes, nice cruising car.
3) Mom- Mid size AWD sedan, auto, loaded w/o leather, maybe a subie or volvo.
4) Sister Chris- Loaded Mini van, her pick. 3 kids.
5) Sister Holly- Prius V, 2 kids and a greenie.
1) Parent's = 1960 Chevy 2 door in medium blue. That's what they started out married life with back in '63...but resto-modded with an LS1/disc brakes and A/C.
2) My Lovely Wife = whatever car she desires.
3) A Fleet of wheel chair accessible vans for whatever charitable organizations need them.
4) A friend told me at our HS reunion that the museum needs an unmarked Sprinter van.
5) Well digging equipped truck(s) that will be used to drill for water for my friends charity in C.A.R. , along the the cast and crew for a full 5 years +.
Mom: '54-'55? MGTD. She was going to buy one when she was younger, but Gramps firmly said, "NO"
Pop: '50 Merc. Kustom, of course - skirts, spots, Lake pipes, the whole shebang. It's what he always mentions, when we talk cars, even though he's not much of a car guy.
Daughter #1: something black. She sees cars as appliances, so whatever looks "cute".
Daughter #2: Yellow Jeep Wrangler. I don't know why, but she wants one.
The Boy: something dirtcheap with a warranty. I'm tired of fixing his crap-cans and he doesn't keep his cars from looking like a garbage scow.
This was easier than my lotto picks
55 Ford T-Bird Restomod to my aunt for helping me out so much
'12 Mustang Convertible to my Mom, (she loves them and she lives in FL)
'12 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid for my wife (She so gets excited every time she sees one)
'11 Ford Flex to my BIL (propagates too much)
Triumph Spitfire with Miata drivetrain and suspension to my buddy Armin, just because he wants a Spit as a DD so much.
if i hit it big, i will build the following cars for the following people:
'65 corvette convertible for my sister because she's always wanted a corvette and she's the only other gearhead in my family.
'64 corvair spyder convertible for my friend homeboy mark because he's my friend homeboy mark.
'69 charger resto-mod for doctor kool, my partner in the patient temperature management exercise.
'62 corvair wagon resto-mod for my wife, because she'd never drive it and i could have it for myself.
'02 camaro SS convertible for my daughter, because she's awesome.
1) The Wife: She really wants a luxo SUV like and Escalade, but I wouldn't want to be that gaudy, so I'd get her a Range Rover, thats a little more classy to me.
2) My mom and step dad have been tight with money for a really long time. I would get them a new Chevy pickup. They still have a couple horses and could use a truck over the Focus Wagon they have.
3) My best friend is still paying his medical bills from having cancer. I'd get him a VW Jetta TDI. He's been talking about one for a while and getting rid of his Ranger. This way he could keep both.
4)My Dad really needs a new car. I don't know what he would want, but since I have been alive, he has NEVER owned a new car except for my step mom's Xterra. That doesn't count, HE needs a new car.
5) This slot is open. I used to have people here that I thought could use a new car, but they're doing just fine now.
wife: tesla S
grandpa: diesel hilux
uncle: diesel hilux
dad: new zr1 (plus that sweet deal where you get to go out to detroit and help build your engine)
mom: new armada or qx56 (she loves her current pathfinder but its worn out)
My Father only drives vans, and Mom only cares if it gets her from A to B. I love them, but I would not waste a car on them.
I would buy my wife a resto-mod 2002Tii and a top-of-the-line Ford Flex.
I would buy my brother-in-law the coolest Swedish car ever made, perhaps a Koenigsegg Agera R?
I would buy my daughter something that would be cool in 4 years when she can drive, perhaps a Beetle Turbo?
Then I would donate a large Freightliner Sprinter to the local food bank.
SWMBO-2012 Mustang Convertable it's what she wants. and a proper daily driver she likes Hondas so what ever she wants.
Mom-perfectly restored 1989 Geo Metro (don't ask it's what she would want) and despite the fact that it would need constant work a 356 Porsche or an E-jag the cars she thought were the sex when she was younger
Dad-something fun and convertable Fiat, Porsche, he doesn't need a daily just something fun for weekends
Sister-new VW or Audi as she lives in germany and needs a car that will pass inspection.
That's more than 5 if you count the two for SWMBO and Mom.
Ooops.
The wife gets the pink Impreza because she loves pink and loves Imprezas so it's kind of a no-brainer.
My dad gets the Scout because he had one when I was a kid that was rusted nearly in half and never ran quite right. He still loved it and to this day laments getting rid of it.
The kids get Fozzies because they're under-powered and easy to work on.
Hmm... tough one...
1) a perfect Delorean for the g/f. Or a perfect 850csi.
2) years ago, my mother mentioned she's always wanted a Porsche... and while she could afford one, she would never buy something so extravagant.
3) before my father went nuts, I had plans to buy him a minivan to haul around his re-enactment stuff. If money were no object, a never-ending 2 or 3 year lease, so by the time it needed any major maintenance, it would get traded in.
Other than that, I could probably find a few more.
My daddy would get a 67 El Camino. He had one way back in the day but sold it when my sister and I came along.
Mom would get something AWD and really racy, like a BMW X6 or Trailblazer SS.
My wife would get her Scion xB converted to a diesel
My Sister and B-I-L would get a diesel pickup for towing their camper
... and I can't think of anyone else for whom I'd buy a car...
