Another option -- pick a bunch of songs that were really popular (and even good), then go onto Spotify and search out the covers of them by other bands. Listen to those covers and find the weirdest, most unexpected ones that you can, then build a playlist out of those.
I'd start with Tori Amos' cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit and Mojo Nixon's cover of Girlfriend in a Coma.
In reply to codrus :
You gain points for the Mojo Nixon reccomendation- his co-workers might like him.

I work with uptight hipsters that listen to E36 M3ty music all day. I'm constantly inundated with "music you've never heard of". The water cooler talk is about How they went to some obscure band that the other one hasnt heard of. These types can't stand mainstream music, much less the terrible mainstream music of the 90's. They hate my music and have banded together so that I can't listen to stuff like old Metallica or the Ramones at work because they find my music "threatening". I'm just giving them what they deserve for being tools that follow fads.
Hmm, in that case the best course of action can only be Mashups- but not just any! You need the mashup, the grand poohbah, the GOD of all Mashup albums for them to actually appriciate and like for how absurdly inventive it is:
Neil Cicierega's Mouth Moods.

I used to have a Spotify or Grooveshark playlist that included 27 versions of Apache, and another with something like 8 or 9 covers of Ball Of Confusion.
How about any music that has to be promoted and declared to be good?
If someone has to tell me it's "good", it 99.9% sucks.

And, also, the reason my brother and I are not allowed near a jukebox.
The best one was fishing from a boat behind the VFW where they had one of those jukeboxes where you could buy credits from your phone...during a retirement celebration.
Actually E36 M3 yea, you should play GRMer music. Poopshovel, interstellar sledgehammer, the other groups I'm forgetting. Turn them on to something good.

Heh. That reminds me, add Art of Noise (with Tom Jones) covering "Kiss" by Prince to the list above. :)
Many of the hated songs are on my iPod, I feel attacked.
In reply to codrus :
I've done this at work and people either love or hate it. There seemed to be no in between. I'd add in The Gourds cover of Gin and Juice which got some real hate, The Mavericks cover of Hungry Heart, Sturgill Simpson has a few good ones too, I like The Promise
Another option for the approach I suggested with trying to out-never-heard-of-them the hipsters: Mr. Bungle. Guaranteed to have them asking "What the berkeley was that?" This is a band whose goal was to produce music that couldn't be shelved in any possible genre. So the result is not just a band they haven't heard of... it's a genre they haven't heard of!
Another possibility: Tom Lehrer. Kind of like a '60s Weird Al - with a much, much darker sense of humor. Maybe they've heard of him - maybe. But you'll be laughing too hard to care if they have or not.

Fun fact: Tom Lehrer is still alive and well, at 91 years old.
Oh just play Baby its cold outside on loop.
Some music that I really, really hate is very cyclic/repetitive stuff of any genre. Some of the prime offenders likely to spew forth from a radio are:
Beyonce - Single Ladies
Joni Mitchell - Big Yellow Taxi

I don't really know either of the songs you mention offhand, but I just want to add QFMFT! Nothing musically pisses me off more than overly repetitious lyrics or even melody phrases. We get it, you're in love with your chorus, no reason to make us hate it by repeating 75 times.
See also: "Daylight" by Matt & Kim - not only does it repeat the chorus multiple times, but there's a call-and-response vocal that repeats the repeat!
Any modern garage indie rock band with a two people and they sound like they are screaming monotonesquely into a toilet while the hump the fingerboard are pretty berkeleying terrible. They will usually have words like keys, stripes, or dumber things in the name.
I was reminded of this today, and I thought it may be perfect for this thread. Shatner covering "Common People."
Rock Lobster by the B-52's.
A story: Once at work our Muzak got stuck in a loop where it played rock lobster every other song. One of my workers/friend was on that day and he hates both the song and the band. I have the ability to block background music out. He does not. Told him "Sorry bro can't shut the system off, policy, have to be able to page you if I need you..". It was a glorious day.

I'd also jump off the trend of trying to get intentionally obnoxious music, and go for something more subtle. See if you can out-never-heard-of-them the hipsters, preferably with various shades of metal and rap: Stratovarius, Treacherous Three, Dream Theatre, Sabaton...
Or go for Psycho Stick's "Beer", but they might enjoy that.
I actually enjoy psychostick. The beard song is good.
