Quite a few people in my family have Hashimoto's. They ran a lot of tests on me when I was younger because I was showing signs of thyroid issues but nothing conclusive presented itself.

What everyone else said, though - if it's defective, they nuke your defective thyroid (some part of me remembers it as actually being radiation therapy, but I was a wee young'un when my mom had it done) and then you take Synthroid every day for the rest of your life.

Hey Jerry, tell us how your tests come out.

I just got back from the Doc. I'm off to the Oncologist tomorrow to see how things are going. Seems they aren't doing as well as I'd hoped, internally.

I've heard this too. As long as it hasn't spread, near 100% success rate. Take the thyroid out, and take a pill every day.
