It's not about what you want. It is the will of der Google.

What pisses me off even more about Google owning the youtubes (besides trying to control my online experience completely by forcing me to use google+) is how youtube keeps f*&king around with the way it is laid out.

The layout from 6 months ago was PERFECT! Now everything is segregated and requires me to click through menus... welcome to the 20th century I guess!

I got my original Youtube account back working again, "temporarily disconnected from Google+" AGAIN, and all eleventy-billion Google+ accounts associated to me deleted, AGAIN.

I went and "liked" Petrolicious' Stratos video as a test (I don't give out likes willy-nilly), and it accepted my like without any damned "what name do you want to use on Youtube" pop-ups.

So, I've got it all straightened out, for maybe the next 48 hours, before it berkeleys up again.

I used to have one Youtube account linked to my Gmail account which is linked to another Gmail account. Then this crap happened, I got out with two Youtube accounts and no Google+ crap although I get nag messages about it after every login. Ah well I found a good use for the second account anyway.

I just stopped uploading to Youtube. Can't log in without an attempt to trick me into joining G+.

YouTube is NOT a free service any more than when I go to work and wrench on cars. Google makes money by selling adspace. They get ad views by having content for people to click through. They get content by having you upload stuff. They are the ones who are covering the uptime and bandwidth, so that's only fair, but don't lose sight of the fact that they need YOU to provide content.

It seems that they have realized that, with eleventy billion hours of video posted every minute, people are perfectly happy to be exploited free-of-charge. Power to the proletariat? The revolution won't be televised, because the masses will be too busy watching themselves on TV to revolt...
