Would be a great place to hole up. Rainwater is not an issue in the caribbean and you are literally dozens of miles from any inhabited land (Key west is the closest place)

for that matter.. any key south of 7 mile bridge would be good.. just blow up 7 mile and while they try to walk across the bottom, the current will sweep them out to see or further into the gulf.

For that matter.. just take out the centre section of 7 mile bridge and place shooters.. the zombies will walk across the bridge to the opening and you can pick them off

Hurricanes might be a problem.....even if your structures are storm resistant, exposed crops aren't

keywest gets hit with how many hurricanes? They either usually take on cuba or go north. They keys are remarkably hurricane free for being in the dead centre of where most of them come through

As for fungus or some outside force making zombies:

Okay, couple more questions for the brain (eating) trust. What natural forces will kill zombies? I have to assume, since the flesh is dead, it can dry out and/or rot. I imagine a couple mile walk through the desert would dry a zombie right to dust.

My general thinking is to go somewhere with a low human population to begin with, so not so many zombies to deal with. If the desert doesn't agree with the Zombies, that makes any number of tiny towns in the desert south-west pretty appealing. Find a place on a small river an you might be in pretty good shape.

that's why I like the islands.. small population and isolation by natural elements... and a steady supply of food provided you like fish

but I imagine the desert would be good.. as zombies would not be smart enough to carry or look for water.. or up in the great white north where they would freeze solid
