No exhaust, trans leaking badly.  Otherwise dirty but decent.  Big discounts if you come take the parts off yourself.  ZIP 18914, garage, jacks and cherry picker use available.  Front right suspension new, front brakes new, tires pretty good but I also have a new mounted set of sumitomo 185s that were supposed to go on it.  I would love for someone to buy the whole drivetrain, we can sawzall the front end off in a few hours.  Or make me an offer and get the whole stupid thing.

Someone should be all over the steering column and EPS unit already.

7+ hours each way for me to come get the whole car plus about $50 in tolls each way.  $100-ish in fuel each way.

$300 cost to me just to come get it.

As just a parts car I'd like to have less than $1k into it which leave me at a max of $700 purchase price.

Leaking trans is not a common failure.  Was the trans hit/cracked?

Tell me more about the good parts?  How many miles on it?  What colors? Aside from the  trans leak,  does it run?

Is it together enough that I could take it home on a tow dolly?

Sorry but I need at least 1500 for the car.  I have 1700 into it.  Just tested the battery, Dr Prius gave it an 84%.  Better than my driver.  It is silver, 235K miles.  Seats are dirty, had a minor tap in the rear passenger corner and a little rust in front of the rear wheels.  Tires are very good.  It had some sort of suspension damage front left side has a new control arm and ball joint.  Drives great though, so I am conflicted about parting it out.  I will be putting it in the garage, again, to look closely at the trans to see if it is a crack or just a bad seal.  It came with a full folder of maintenance, nothing remarkable.

It could be dollied without issue.  I am not selling off bits yet, once you start that you have to finish it.  Right now the only responses are for little crap that will disable the car.  I think between the battery, brake system, electronics and fuel tank I am at 80% of the asking so at least I won't lose too much.

I will be in Pittsburg next month and could bring whatever fits in the back of the truck after loading camping gear.  So If you want to work something out let me know.

So, what is keeping this from being a full driver?  Just the leaking trans?

My recommendation would be to list the whole car on FB/CL.

A quick look in my area on car-part.com and a 90k trans is just $225.  In PA, this place has 126k for $250  It's not a job that I want to tackle but some buyer will.  Ask $2,900 and it will be gone in just days.  I recently sold a '04 w/ 210k, running fine but not road worthy due to bad ABS module for $3k.  That ABS replacement is probably as difficult as a trans replacement.

I might be interested in the new tires if delivered to Pittsburgh.  What's a good price on those?  Are they mounted to Prius wheels or unmounted?

Driver side output from the trans has a quarter inch up,down play.  More than a seal!  I can try selling as is but doubt it will go around here.

The tires are sumitomo performance, mounted and balanced.  450 if you have a set of rims to give me.  550 if I have to buy more rims.  Need a set for winter tires. And yes I can deliver

$550 hits far more than my cheap self can go.  I'm not saying they aren't worth it but just that I'm not the right guy for them.

Sold whole car, thanks to John for giving me the motivation to try.  Put it on facebook, after a week it went.  But the post responses are worth sharing.

In 6 days,

3000 views

over 30 saves, 20 shares

over 50 inquiries, offers from 500 to 1500.

3 appointments and no show

90% of the offers came from people from north jersey and new york, with questionable facebook profiles and limited ability to communicate in english.  Not a criticism, just an observation.

In the end it sold for 1800, I got stubborn and emotionable after getting messages in the middle of the night all week.  Probably the most frustrating car sale ever.

I've sold two and parted one in the past 3 years.  $2k for first one, $1500 for second, made about $1500 parting the third (don't remember exactly).  The sales went very quickly, I was just deluged with messages and offers.  Seems like any low end priced car gets that these days.  I think both of the sale cars  went overseas in a cargo container (I know the second one was headed to Cambodia).

Just had the catalytic converter stolen from my current driver 08 Prius in front of our condo, in downtown Jacksonville.  Muffler shop tells me they get ~$1k scrap price for them, which sounds insane.
