We bought another Ford Fairmont with a low mileage (47K) 200 ci 6 cylinder. When my son posted about his Fairmont, someone expressed interest in the engine. We had junked it prior to that being realized. If someone has interest in the one in the new car, please let me know.
Indeed, it was me.
The other engine was listed as free, and there was an outside chance of getting it to a friend of mine at Drag Week.
If this engine is another low mount starter, similarly priced, and with a workable way to get it to Indiana, I would be interested again.
Unfortunately, as scarce as the low mount blocks are getting to be, I still don't have the time to run out to PA chasing a back-up block. I will be in the area next weekend picking up a car, but no way to haul an engine home....

If I can sort a way to bring an engine home from the Challenge, would you be willing to haul it there?

Chicago to Boston empty but could there still be room for an engine on the return?
This is an interesting engine. It originally was offered as a 170 cid with 4 main bearings. When they went to 200 it got 7 main bearings. I used to be interested in this engine when I had a '66 mustang with the 200 I-6 . I found that the hot ticket was a set up with a overhead cam head that was sold only on Australian Fords. The American head had an integral intake manifold with passages the size of a #2 pencil (well, maybe a fat pencil) . With all those main bearings you could really rev it without issues. Same block also came in 250 c.i.. This block was smaller than the 240 cid block some Ford trucks had. And this 170/200/250 block was fairly light. I never did any out this , I just remember the research.
250ci was a taller deck and longer stroke engine. They don't like to rev.
The OHC heads don't fit the log head blocks, but I have an aluminum crossflow head that will. It is also from the Australian market.
Thanks for the heads up, John Welsh. I will keep that in mind!
This May be way out there but I am in Harrisburg next week so I could easily get it and bring it back as far as NW Ohio, I do go to the Indy market once a month so I could probably get it all the way to you.

That would be about ideal on my end! I appreciate the offer.

I think it's on Calvin's YouTube channel. Search nivlac57
Shock of shocks. These things are actually sought after. Never thought about air compressors and generators.
