Hi all, I've noticed a fairly common type of scammer has started posting in the parts for sale forum.

They'll reply to an existing thread with something like "I've got one to sell too--email me for details."

Then, they scam you. They have no parts.

It's a rampant scheme online, so please do not fall for it, and downvote any attempts you see. If a new user just happens to have exactly what you're looking for... it's a scam. We're nuking them as quickly as we can.

Thanks for the reminder, and thanks for your vigilance. One more reason to love this place; much appreciated the way you keep taking out the trash! šŸ˜

If this is true, now I'm afraid to contact sellers. I usually come on here to purchase needed parts and so far, it's been great!

They usually piggyback on existing ads.
