I can get stuff to Oak Lawn. Can't guarantee K-Zoo by late October at this point.

I still need to verify there's some way to get that turbo down here to Florida. Briefly talked to Stampie about it.

So is it RacetruckRon to Cooter to Robbie to Challenge? How much space is there? I can take from Challenge to GA, FL, SC, and NC by Christmas.
I'm not sure if Robbie is in or not at this point. Your best bet is to contact him directly if he doesn't reply to this thread. I also don't know how much room he has to transport a bunch of parts. QuasiMoFo (John Brown) has graciously offered delivery down to the Challenge in an oversized trailer, but that is also something you would have to negotiate/clear with him. Myself, I have the back of a 3G Prius, which is much roomier than you might expect. Since the MiniMill is out of the equation, there isn't much on the list that would be an issue besides the seats, bumpers, and aforementioned long block. I can bring the parts that fit in my car down to my house which is just SW of Chicago, and fairly near a couple interstates in the area, I-294, I-55, I-57, I-90, and I-94 being among those.
My plan at this point is to pick up the fuel cell, radiator, and Microsquirt on Saturday, so a little but of room is already taken up. But I am pretty sure I can fit most anything else that an interest was expressed on in this thread. (Again, except for the aforementioned long block, for which I am eternally sorry, Patrick)
While I would like to say that I can bring parts to QMF before he heads down to the Challenge, I haven't been out to Michigan on a whim as in ordinary years. (Covid has greatly reduced my ability to reach Climax as often as I would like) If I found something I couldn't live without along the I-94 corridor that could change, but no guarantees. Also, as I said before, you would need to clear any of that with QMF beforehand. I really don't want to drop a bunch of used parts off at someone's place on the assumption he will deliver them for you. That would be incredibly rude on my part.
All that said, if anyone wants/needs me to pick anything up, you need to let me know. Don't just assume that because you said you wanted something in this thread that it will magically make it down to the Challenge/your business/your nieces' summer cottage. I will do my best to facilitate forward progress from here, but all that I am able to guarantee at this point is transport from RTR to Oak Lawn Illinois.
TL/DR: I can pick up parts and get them to Chicagoland Saturday. Not able to guarantee timely transport beyond that right now.
I can get some stuff from Cooter to the challenge. Similarly, I likely won't have room for an engine block, but a few boxes of parts can make it. Do we have a list of everything we want to have come down?
In reply to Robbie (Forum Supporter) :
I'm still interested in the DSM parts, but I'm not sure what the price is for them.
Ok so here's my list of who's getting what I will leave it up to you guys to figure out if it's getting distributed via the GrmEx or if you want me to ship it directly. Please correct me if I mess this up.
Cooter: Radiator, Fuel cell, Microsquirt
Patrick: LS4 Oil pan, set of Gen4 rods
Stampie: VQ35 carbon fiber engine cover, Polaris 500 snowmobile engine
Mr_Asa: Box of Holset Turbo and extra bits
Angry Corvair: Flowtech LS Turbo headers
I'm also bringing a bin of DSM stuff down to Pete Gossett in November when I am going to be in Gulf Shores area, unless you want those sooner Pete and want Cooter to try and fit those into his car. I really don't have room to bring anything else with on that adventure. I decided to keep the mini mill and the 4.8 I think is going in my truck this week since the high mile L33 that was in it decided it was going to undergo rapid unscheduled disassembly this last weekend.
I think I had the LS1 intake also.
Robbie/Cooter do you think ya'll could fit the Polaris 500cc engine? It's a 2 cylinder so hopefully small enough. QMF told me in text he's cool to bring stuff but getting from Chicagoland to him would be the issue.
In reply to RacetruckRon :
I'm ok waiting until November. That'll save Robbie some space & there won't be any problems if I don't make it to the challenge this year for whatever reason.
In reply to Stampie (FS) :
I included the Polaris in the list of stuff I believed I could fit. If I somehow misjudged, I will make another trip to be sure I get it here.
I will do my best to make sure stuff gets to people who can bring it the next step/rest of the way. And I am scheming to make sure I can somehow get to QMF World Headquarters in the nest month. Just need a decent excuse to head out there during a time when someone in my family isn't either going into the hospital, coming out of the hospital, or dying. I just can't guarantee it with everything else that is going on here on top of C-19.

I can also pick things up from Quasi Mofo's place and get them to metro Detroit if that helps
Last call.
I will be heading up to RTR's early tomorrow morning. The addition of Wisconsin to Chicago's Quarantine List, as well as Cook County's is going to complicate things quite a bit, but I can still make this work while staying in the guidelines, as there are a couple of small but important distinctions between the two orders. However, I won't be able to go with my favorite travel companion, nor will I be able to do anything in Chicago for two weeks after this. If you haven't expressly said you want your parts brought down by me here, I won't be picking them up.
From the posts, I am reasonably sure Angry and Stampie want their parts brought down, and I have already talked to Patrick about the parts he wants (please correct me if I am wrong about any of this) Some of you may have already told RTR your wishes, and if that's the case, I'm sure he will let me know. But I will be making this contact-free, and masked up for this pick up.

Fully
I'm just glad I could get some money for junk I'm not going to use anytime soon. It helps pay for an engine rebuild and shows my wife I'm not a total hoarder. I also like enabling bad ideas and it seems like there's a decent amount of those in this thread.
