There aren't a lot of car things here at this auction, but I thought I'd list it.

My uncle passed away 2 years ago.  It's cool.  It was expected and he had a great life.  My Aunt lived at the farm until she got a spot at a retirement community, so the whole shebang is going to be auctioned off on May 20th.

My uncle was like one of the last holdouts of the old-school ways.  He traded with Amish.  He had one bank account and still wrote paper checks.  He farmed his land with an old tractor.  He never had a cell phone or an internet service provider.  He made his own beer (until he went into seminary and stopped partaking).  He butchered his own hogs, milked his own cows, and hybridized his own garden crops.  If you've ever read the Foxfire books, Uncle Paul could be one of the people interviewed.  Even up to his passing, he was a real-life depiction of a farmer from 1946.

So this auction might not appeal to a lot of you, but this will be (by far) the most interesting auction I've ever attended.  His father-in-law (who originally owned the farm) was the ultimate old-school.  He didn't have the money to buy a drill press, so he made one from an old Ford 3-speed manual and a motor from a washing machine.  Bingo.  Three speed reversible drill press.  Tons of tractor stuff (some very valuable), farm implements, antiques, collectibles, etc.

I'm mostly posting this because my family misses Uncle Paul.  His remaining family is not poor, but my Aunt needs a pretty good chunk of money to afford the retirement home, and what a joy it would be to see this auction succeed with a nice turnout.  Even if you don't buy anything, you will certainly enjoy the "American Pickers" vibe that will certainly happen.

Zero expectations.  Just thought I'd list this in case anyone was in the area and itching for an Americana experience.

I'm a sucker for a deal on cast iron pans. I can't make it out for the auction but if there's 1 or 20 I'd be interested in having you snag them

I've been looking for vintage steel farm implement wheels to hang on my garage but at 90 miles I could maybe find them local. And I hate the Pa. turnpike.

Bedford is a great location, should be a good turnout.

Good luck with the auction.
