Are Mustang T5's not on the list?
For the life of me I don't know why anyone would deliberately install a B series MOWOG in anything. But if you must, and want OD, the logic would dictate the 4 speed OD that the factory designed to bolt on to the back of that engine.
But that is obvious.
What am I missing?
No don't install a T9. When I got my XR4Ti, the first upgrade was to a T5, then a WC T5, then another & another. Never really experienced what was WC about them.
The newest gm t5s are from 98 to 02 camaro v6s. They are wc.
The bell housing is the same as the gm 60 degree engines fyi. These are easy to find on carpart.
Is the GM T5 a bolt on or something? If you have to adapt anyway, i'd be looking at a much better trans that is very cheap, a miata trans.

Duratec/MZR on the front of an NC Miata trans means no adapters, far better parts availability than an antique MG lump, lighter weight and you could probably pull a couple of plug wires to get the power down to MGB levels. It wouldn't be hard to find one that doesn't need a rebuild because that engine is everywhere and pretty durable.
Caterham has been using them for years with their own transmission.
I replied, but it came back as undeliverable. It was pulled working from a '74 donor and I'd intended to put it in my 'BGT, but didn't then sold the car. It's been in my garage for the last 15 years. It would be pickup only and $1000.
MGB ODs go for around $1000 pretty much all day and the 4 synch ones are pretty bombproof. The 4 synch are just junk for the same $$$. They of course can be had cheaper if yo are in the right place at the right time. I grab them at $500 when I see one and resell.
Chances are you wont find a cheaper alternative if you want OD.
The B series engine will always be "all noise and no poise" in how it goes about its job. If the engine has a single positive attribute, please let me know, because I have been looking for over 40 years in the case of my GT.
