I am in search of a bellhousing for Mopar big block to NP435 transmission. *for a truck; car bellhousings are for the A-833 four speed.
I'd prefer not to pay $1k+ for one, as they are apparently made out of 24k gold these days.

I was poking around on marketplace last night, do you have a picture or list of part numbers for what exactly you are looking for?

The Mopar part number is 3497272. The car bellhousings are for a different transmission (A-833) and will not work.
Example-
A quick bit of Google-fu indicates these have been hard to find for a long time. When I was more involved in the 4x4 world 30+ years ago, Mopar trucks with a big block and a manual transmission were pretty rare - at least here in the rust-belt.
I did find this: "The stock bb bellhousing you are looking for will be #3497272."

Edited to Add- It's actually pretty frustrating, because I can find aftermarket bellhousings for B/RB motors to just about every transmission except the NP435. It's a shame, because the 435 is the perfect 4x4 truck four speed with a deeeep 1st gear of 6.68:1

Yep, that's one that'll work.
At that price you may want to look into an aftermarket bell housing.
Summit has a BB Mopar to Tremec for $480, if that is a workable depth should not be hard to fit.

In looking for a few different non stock combos these last few days (ya know, "one day" projects) ever Tim I clicked on one less than $900-1200, it wasn't what I searched for. Yes, there are some available, and I hope his is a less expensive option. But my first thought was "that ain't high, these days."

The Mopar big block/manual trans combo existed in trucks, but it was not common. Hence the price tag of ~50 year old cast iron bits being so high.
Small block (LA) Mopar? Everywhere. $200. Not even kidding.

That does not surprise me at all. Despite not liking fancy things, and the value of something has never matters in my choices - as a car guy, not a money guy that likes to make profit on cars, it is a contributing factor to being poor!
Usually, I find out, if it catches my attention, it cost more!
